"Gaiya!" L'cian sped up from a walk to a trot to catch up to the girl. Luckily, they were both on the their way to the dinning caverns at the same time - though, in this case, 'luck' involved half a candlemark of waiting and two false alarms. "Wait up!"
"Oh, L'cian! Where have you been hiding?" she asked as she stopped to allow him to catch up.
His face froze a little at her phrasing. Had somone told her he was waiting for her? "No where, why? Have you missed me?" He said rather boyishly.
"Hmmm," she said with a coy smile, "maybe..."
"_Maybe_? Oh, I don't like the sounds of that..." He slipped his arm around her waist possesively. "I wonder what it'll take to turn that into a distinct 'yes'..." This was not the first occasion he had wondered aloud.
"I think a place a little less public than here," she said as she slipped out of his grasp. Gaiya had always said she liked her private afairs private, after all.
"You firey little flit, fine. Have it your way!"
L'cian sighed. "I'll act just like everybody else. How was your day, Gaiya?" His tone was notably bland and only seemed vaguely interested.
Gaiya noticed his lack of enthusiasm and felt a bit guilty about it. "Boring, uneventful, in dire need of a bronzerider to make it much more interesting..." she gave him a coy smile. "What do you say we take dinner to go?"
"Whatever the lady wants." He winked slyly as they passed a group of fellow riders also making their way to dinner. "Lead the way."
Gaiya sent L'cian off to snag a flask of wine while she packed up enough food for the both of them. She smiled as he approached, flask in hand. "Now we just have to decide where to enjoy our meal. Any suggestions?"
"It's been a while since I've snuck off to the beach at night, but that could be complicated; too much potential for sand to get everywhere..."
"You think here will be an opportunity for sand to get _everywhere_?" she asked with a sly smile. "Very well. We need a couple blankets. I'm sure I can find them somewhere."
"Yea, I hate when my food gets all sandy." He winked.
"Blankets would be a _very_ good idea."
"Well, let's walk by my weyr along the way. You just wait outside and not get any funny ideas." She gave his rear a teasing slap. "At least not _yet_."
"Oh, ho!" L'cian was honestly quite shocked.
"Apparently I'm not the one to worry about!"
"That's right, and don't you forget it," she teased as this time she gave it a bit of a squeeze. "Men aren't the only ones with sharding good ideas!"
"WHO has been _teaching_ you this?!" L'cian looked at you incredulously. "This isn't the Gaiya I know and -"
he cut himself off. "And sleep with..." **Great recovery, wherrybrain.**
"The Gaiya you know and sleep with... Very nice, L'cian," she said with a chuckle. "I'm sorry, but living in a Weyr all your life, you are bound to pick up a thing or two. Besides, it was a boring day. Plenty of time to daydream, and I have an active imagination." The young woman gave him a smile full of promise as she ducked into her weyr and retrieved the blankets. "Let's get down to the beach, shall we?"
L'cian realized that she had almost completely avoided answering the question, but he didn't entirely care.
After all, when a beautiful woman invites you to the beach on a starlit night, worry about who she invited last time? "Lead the way." They walked onto the sandy expanse, stars sparking high in the sky. Gaiya kicked off her boots and strolled barefoot on in the sand, far enough down the beach that they would not likely be noticed by other star gazers. For his part, L'cian made a grand show of spreading the blankets and setting out the food. "My lady," he announced. "Your feast awaits."
"Hmmm... Looks appealing," she teased as she sat down on the blanket, letting the inuendo hang heavy as she wrapped a piece of roast herdbeast into a roll.
"Yes you do." He winked.
"Now now, bronzerider. It's no good getting distracted before you can get a little food in you. You're going to need your strength."
"You _know_ I have the strength, Gaiya. But if that's what m'lady wants..." He followed suit and picked a few choice slices of meat.
"Oh, L'cian, you should have figured out by now that food is not really what I'm interested in." It was so much fun to tease the bronzerider sometimes.
"You women! You say one thing and usually end up meaning another! What am going to do with you?"
"Well, I will let you use your imagination on that score."
"Are you sure? Mine's much more active than yours..."
He moved closer to her and gingerly stroked the hair off her neck.
"Oh, I somehow doubt that. But I will give you a chance to prove yourself," she said as a slight shiver ran down her spine.
But instead of kissing her as she might of though, L'cian gently, and rather skillfully, began to massage her shoulders - even if a kiss did slip in now and again.
Gaiya was a bit surprised, though it was not unwelcome. A day chasing small children around could give her a few real big knots in her shoulders. She leaned back into him, enjoying the warmth of her body on her back as well as his hands on her shoulders.
L'cian worked his way back her back taking great pleasure in the moans he occasionally elicited from Gaiya. After some time he began to undo a button here or a tie there as he went; he was in no rush.
Gaiya for her part was enjoying running her fingers along his thighs, feeling the muscles beneath the fabric. Dragonriders had the nicest legs. If only he wasn't wearing so much clothing she could admire them so much easier!
The bronzerider was thinking just about the same thing about other parts of the female anatomy, but luckily neither had very long to wait as pants and tunics were soon flung across the sand to reveal their bare skin to the moonlight.
"Well," Gaiya said breathlessly as she curled up on her side, "I can say you proved yourself, bronzerider.
You certainly do have an excellent imagination!"
"Just scratching the surface, love." He stretched his arms around her. "I just want to be good to you."
Gaiya frowned slightly. Could L'cian be reading more into their relationship than there actually _was_?
**No. You made it quite clear,** she told herself and shook off the suspicions. "Well, next it's my turn to be good to you. Once I get my energy back."
"Can't wait..." He whispered in her heard before relaxing into sleep.
"Your snoring says otherwise," Gaiya grumbled as she sat up and made herself another roast sandwich.
**Men...**
