Oria

Oria

"How've you been feeling?" asked the greenrider of the other as she sat down beside her.

"Oh alright." Cherlyn said as she slowly lowered herself into the chair. "Everyone's been so good to me. Bringing me food, work, helping me take care of Lueanth." Cherlyn rubbed a crease out of her shirt, concious of her growing belly. It was so big!

"It does say here that you need to avoid stress," said Oria as she skimmed through the notes she needed to update. "How have you been managing with that?"

"Fine. I spend an awful lot of my time in my weyr.
But It's seems almost the entire weyr knows about me so whenever I try to do something constructive there's someone there with a chair and a cup of klah to relax me." Cherlyn smiled. "I'll tell you this though, I don't miss the Drills." Much.

"I bet you don't," replied Oria with a grin.
"Although we do need them." She skimmed further down the notes. "It says here that the father of your babies is based at River Bluff; do you see a lot of him?"

"Not as much as I'd like. Though we write a bit."
Cherlyn explained.

"Do either of you plan to transfer? After the birth?"
Being pregnant restricted the amount of riding and /between/ trips allowed, but with twins, all the healers advised not to even attempt it.

"We're not sure. But if anyone was to transfer it would be me, J'ren's a Wingsecond." Cherlyn explained.

"I see. Do you think you'd like that? Moving to River Bluff?"

"It'd be an experience. I'd loose everything I'd worked for here. And Dolphins Cove is my home, I Impressed here and fought my first Fall in these wings." Cherlyn sighed. "We haven't talked about it much and I still have to get through the pregnancy so..."

"You don't have to decide anything yet," assured Oria.

"Exactly. I still have some time before I'm do."
Cherlyn smiled at the thought of that wonderful day still so far off in the difference.

"Plenty of time to prepare. Have you spoken to the midwife yet about the delivery? I can make an appointment for you if you need me too?"

"No thank you I've got that all under control. I went searching for midwives with experience birthing twins once I found I was having them." Cherlyn said assuredly. This pregnancy had really pushed her out of her shell. In her want to provide the best life for her children she had been forced to leave the comfort of her weyr to make sure she was taken care of.

"Good."

"I thought so." Cherlyn said, rubbing her fast expanding stomach. She grinned when she felt one of the babies kick. "I want to make sure that these guys, or girls, get the best care possible." She remembered her own upbringing after her mother died and reassured herself that her children wouldn't have that.

"It could be one of each."

"It could, but my mothers intuition is saying their the same." Cherlyn said. "Don't ask me hwo I know I just feel that they're both the same, though I don't know which."

"Well it won't be long till you find out."

"Oh I'm not looking forward to that part." She said in exasperation. "I heard giving birth to one is hard enough, two must be excrutiating."

"I don't know, but my mother did it lots of times, I have several older brothers." "My condolances." Cherlyn said with a face that seemed both sincere and sarcastic. "That must have been tough."

"I guess it's why I ended up a tomboy!"

"Maybe if I'd had brothers I might have had a bit more spine in my early days." Cherlyn said under her breath.

}:But then I wouldn't have found you.:{ Lueanth said in mock concern. Cherlyn sent her love and reassurances.

"I do sometimes wish I had a sister."

"Scared the boys would think you were too much like them to date?" Cherlyn asked with humor in her voice.

"No, just sometimes there are things you want to tell a sister."

"Don't I know it. No sisters on my end either." Cherlyn agreed.

"Although know I have Degrorth, she always understands me."

"Yes, what would we do without our dragons?" Cherlyn asked absentmindly, sending her own sleepy dragon more love.

"Exactly."
