}:Wake up!:{ Omath prodded for Ch'lis to awaken.

**What?** he asked half awake, yet half alseep.

}:Wake up!:{ Omath was nudging him awake now. }:The firelizard is hatching!:{
**Hatching? Oh!** Ch'lis quickly got out of bed and put on a shirt and a pair of boots. He ran to the meat room, and got some scraps of meat before he made his way to the hearth that his flit was at.

"And where do you think you're going?" One of the Weyrlingmaster's Assistants caught Ch'lis.

"Oh," he had not been this frantic sense the hatching. "My flit egg is hatching."

The assistant eyed the bowl of meat and saw the eagerness in Omath, who's eyes were whirling in excited hues of green and blue. "Okay," he signaled it was okay for the weyrling to go. "But I want you back in a candle mark."

Ch'lis nodded thankfully before he disappeared into the darkness, led only by the glow in his hand. He made it to the hearth, and spotted a young lanky disheveled boy waiting by the hearth as well. It was Enrad, Ch'lis realized as the faint light of the glow outlined his face.

The young lad acknowledged Ch'lis and Omath, but his focus was more on the egg in front of him. "Is the other egg yours?" He spoke, though his eyes remained on the egg.

"Yeah," Ch'lis replied as he set the bowl down. The two eggs were rocking more violently now, and to Ch'lis's surprise Omath gave a quiet encouraging hum for the two eggs as they hatched.

They remained silent, not having much to say to each other, but their silence did not last long, and then the first egg cracked. It was Enrad's, and from the small egg tumbled out a little brown that quickly creeled for food.

"Feed him," Ch'lis encouraged the boy.

"R-r-right!" Enrad fumbled with the food as he coaxed the little brown to him.

}:Your egg is hatching!:{ Omath informed his rider.

Ch'lis pulled his attention away from Enrad and focused on his own egg as it rocked. Dark lines began to scatter across the surface of the shell as the small firelizard forced itself from the egg. He prepared himself as he set the glow down and took some meat from the bowl. The moment the meat reached his hand a small green freed herself from the egg. He thought of nothing but warm welcoming and loving thoughts. The small green quickly lunged at the food devouring the tender morsels, and demanded more from him. Ch'lis found himself reliving the hatching as the craving of food boiled in his belly.
She nearly choked on the meat, but he forced her to slow down less she die from eating. By the time the bowl was empty the small green nestled herself in the crook of his arm, and all Ch'lis could feel was tenderness for the little green flit.

}:You Impressed her:{ Omath commented affectionately for the little green.
He touched his nose to hers before he looked back to Ch'lis. }:She's so small:{
**She's a dragon miniature** He replied with a smile on his face. He looked up to only to see a similar expression on Enrad's face as he held his own brown firelizard.

"Is this what it's like to Impress?" Enrad whispered to Ch'lis.

"Yeah," Ch'lis nodded before he looked back to Omath, who seemed more tired now. He turned his attention back to Enrad. "Don't worry Enrad, you'll Impress."

Enrad looked back up to him. "You know, right now that's not really important. I think he really helped dull the pain."

Ch'lis was glad to hear that.

"So what are you going to name her?" Enrad motioned to the little green.

That was a good question. What was he going to name her. **Do you have any suggestions**

}:You already have a good name:{ Omath answered with a yawn.

Mare, the name quickly came to mind..."Mare," Ch'lis responded. It was a name that seemed to suit her so well too, especially with her elegant form and her light green hide with their soft undertones of brown. "What about him?"

Enrad smiled proudly at the little brown. "Mal."

"It fits him well," Ch'lis ended with a yawn of his own. "Well, it's late, so I think we're going to head back to the barracks."

"Yeah," Enrad agreed. "I need to get back to bed too. I'll see you around?"

"Yeah, I'll see you around." he patted the young boy on his back before he departed from him. He was happy that Enrad had a new firelizard, because he really needed it. But Ch'lis was even more content that he had his own flit too.

The Weyrlingmaster's Assistant acknowledged Ch'lis as he made his way back to the barracks.
"I see you Impressed," he nodded to his green flit.

Ch'lis smiled softly at the assistant before he stepped into the barracks.
He was more than happy to curl up back under his warm first with Mare curled up just above his head.

**Goodnight Omath** he spoke to his blue, and projected serene feelings to the flit.

}:Goodnight Ch'lis:{ Omath responded as he began to drift back off. }:Goodnight Mare:{ Before Ch'lis could ask if the flit perhaps could understand what he said, he found that he drifted off to sleep. It was no matter, he realized in his sleepy daze. All that mattered was that she was here now.
