Physical Description of Persona:
Ch'lis is a heavy set young man, but he is tall enough that his weight does not seem too out of place, except for his protruding belly. He is
well built in his chest, and strong in his arms from handling animals. The top of his head is covered in lose shaggy curls that he keeps closely cropped the closer his hair reaches his neck line. He has blotchy red skin, especially around his face, neck, and arms, but he tan dark… after he burns. He has a heavy set brow over his dark hazel green eye, a short small pointed nose, and small lips that are always pursed together unless he is laughing, which is often.

Emotional Description of Persona:
Even though he has led a troubled past, Ch'lis is still a humorous individual, and very gentle. He is intellectual, and enjoys the intellect in others. He can be arrogant at times, but he admits to this, and he hopes to find some one someday who is just as arrogant as he is, he likes to joke. He is protective, especially of the women in his life. When it comes to love interest, he prefers men, though he will not pass up a woman if he likes her enough. He likes his men with physical imperfections, because of the insecurities of his own body, but he does know how to appreciate a good-looking man, or, in some rare cases, a good-looking woman...

His favorite hobby is walking. Nothing makes him happier than taking a quiet morning walk to the weyr lake, and relaxing there until the rest of the Weyr becomes alive.

But above everything, the most importing thing in his life is his blue dragon Omath, and everything will always come second to his blue.

History of Persona:
Chemalis was born to a poor cot holder, Omelis, and his wife, Chidya, in Garnet Valley Hold, followed two turns later by his younger sister, Olya. His father was an abusive drunk, who was a brutal to his mother. One day, though, his father disappeared from the cothold and never returned. Chemalis and his family do not know what happened to his father, and to this day, Chemalis does not care. Chidya was scarred emotionally from the turns of trauma that she had succumbed to under Omelis. In result of Omelis's abuse, she was hard on Chemalis in the turns to come, letting out her anger on the men in her life. Chemalis swore never to raise a hand to any woman after the experiences that he under went with his family. Chidya finally decided her family needed a change. She heard of the Opal Cove Hold, and decided it was an ideal location to start fresh. Her more fortunate family gave her the money she needed to move her family to their new home. Once they moved, Chemalis, his mother, and his sister started to heal their deep wounds.

His mother worked hard as a private servant/nurse for a master fisher and his family so she could support the small cothold that her own family lived in, and pay off the debt to her family. The hold harper came frequently to the cot once they moved to Opal Cove Hold. After a few visits, the harper began to see a lot of potential in Chemalis, and saw that he was also good with animals. He eventually was sent to the hold's beast master when he was twelve to study the craft, and Chemalis thrived in the hall under his masters. During his time at the Beast Hall he became close friends with a boy named Ramilo. As they became older Chemalis noticed he was attracted to his friend, and realized the feeling was mutual. They had a relationship with each other that went beyond friends, but they were careful to keep it a well guarded secret. The romance between the two of them did not last long though. Shortly after the beginning of the budding romance Ramilo was sent back to his cothold to help support his family after his father's death. Chemalis remained with the hall for a couple more turns turns. It was not, however, until he was sixteen that his life drastically changed...

He was attending a gather at Opal Cove when a green rider and his beast found Chemalis on search. Chemalis was more than honored to try his luck on the hatching grounds, and agreed to go to Dragon Falls Weyr. He continued his studies under the beast master of the Weyr while he waited for the eggs to harden, and when he finally stood he did not Impress. Chemalis was upset, but he knew that if he did not Impress there was still a place for him in the beast craft hall..

Now, after three turns Chemalis has still not Impressed, and he is beginning to wonder if he ever will. However, coming to the Weyr has allowed him to form close bonds with some of the candidates, especially with his best friend Animus, though he would never pursue a relationship with him. He is too pretty, Chemalis likes to joke, and he knows that Animus prefers girls.

After a turn had passed sense his last hatching, Chemalis was finally going to stand again. He looked forward to the next hatching and, as he always likes to humorously say, the next disappointment. But in reality, he really wanted to Impress, and he finally did. At nineteen, Chemalis finally walked off the sands with his young blue dragon, Omath, in his arms.

Description of Dragon:
Omath is only a newly hatched blue, and has not reached his full potential size. Yet, he is still an impressive blue with a rich deep indigo blue hide, and lighter hues that weave in his wings. If one were to look up at his wings it would be like looking up while deep under water.

Omath's personality is mellow like Ch'lis, with a twist of humor. His facet eyes seem to always laugh with his rider, and he always looks at the bright side of everything. But the one thing that always makes Omath happy is when Ch'lis is happy as well; it is Omath's greatest joy in life.

Pets

Mare, Green Firelizard: aged 8, hatched m8 d4
Mare is a small delicate looking firelizard. Her hide is a light green with subtle undertones of brown, while there are patches of lighter green on her hind legs and the tip of her tail.

Like many firelizards she tends to get into mischief, but she disciplined enough to not be a pest. She enjoys finding trundle bugs to bring back to Ch'lis, and tends to hind them in his bed...just to be sure he finds them.
