Gaiya's eyes began to open slowly. She could tell it was already morning by the sounds of people scurrying past the door. Scurrying past the door?
Her eyes flew open and she bolted straight up. **Shards, I'll be seen!**
She _never_ let herself sleep so late when she was with a man. How else could she preserve her reputation? Her first impulse was to plan an escape, but then she had to remind herself as she looked down at the man she had just woken with her thrashing about that this time it was different. She smiled down at him apologetically. This was not one of her secret flings, this was _Ar'lis_.
"Why are you sharding fluttering so?" he grumbled sleepily, tugging her back down to him. Once she was settled in his arms, he kissed the tip of her nose lightly, smoothing his fingers into her hair. "Surely you don't want to _leave_..." His tone teased her as his hold on her tightened slightly.
"I'm sorry," she said as she smoothed down his hair with her fingers. "I guess I was confused for a moment where I was." **And who I was here with...** Gaiya wondered for a second if she should ever tell Ar'lis about her lovers... no, not _lovers_, just flings. No, she didn't need to tell him anything. He would be a dimglow if he didn't realize by now that she was quite experienced. If Ar'lis wanted to know he could ask. And then she might tell him a little, but her secret flings were just that -
secrets.
"Well relax, sweetheart," he soothed, caressing her. Then he suddenly grinned, his eyes gleaming as he looked at her. "I hope that after a while, it won't be so...confusing for you, hmm?" Shards, but it felt so _good_ to have her in his bed. And despite her seeming so...innocent...last night certainly told him that this little vixen had a few surprises hidden up her sleeves!
"Yes," she grinned, "I have a feeling I could get very used to this quickly." And hopefully the confusing part is only temporary too. It had just been a long time since she had allowed herself to have only one man in her life. The last was K'mai. Hmmm... Her brow wrinkled a bit as she remembered how that had ended. Too many regrets. K'mai...
"What's the matter, Gaiya?" Ar'lis reached out to gently smooth his fingers over her furrowed brow. The last thing he'd been expecting was for her to adopt a rather displeased look... "What's on your mind, hmm?"
"Oh, I was just thinking... It was just silly, and it doesn't matter." She gave him a genuine smile, both to convince him that it was nothing and he didn't need to ask, and also because he really was a beautiful man to wake up next to.
He looked at her for a moment before he smiled back. "Well, beautiful, are you going to give me a good morning kiss or not?"
"That depends," she said with a wicked grin, "will you kiss me back?"
"You know I will," he growled softly, his hands smoothing up and down her skin.
Gaiya's grin did not change as she leaned up to kiss the corners of his mouth, beneath his lips, teasingly close, but not close enough for him to reciprocate. It was rare that she actually took the time to be so playful with a man. She was usually the first to slink away. Now she was enjoying teasing him, daring him, taking her time with him.
At first, he let himself enjoy her attentions. Then, when her fingers began teasing him as well, he moaned softly, instantly bringing her down on top of him, wrapping his arms around her hips firmly. "Keep doing what you're doing, Gaiya...and we won't be able to get up for a long while yet." Not that that was a _bad_ thing...
"You intended to get up soon?" Gaiya asked innocently as her fingers continued to wander a bit. Yes, taking time was so much more fun. She remembered now.
"Of course not. _You're_ the early riser, remember?" he chuckled as he let his hands wander further down her back, tangling in her hair.
"Yes, well," she said, her eyes bright and mischievous as she moved against him, "I can tell I've converted you to my way of thinking. Well, at least _parts_ of you..."
His eyes widened briefly before he laughed - which ended in a groan as her movements became a little quicker. "Gaiya..."
"Hmmmm?" she asked sweetly.
He took her face in his hands as he gently moved her up his body. "Quit playing around like that, love," he murmured before bringing his lips to hers in a passionate kiss.
She pulled back breathlessly with a challenging look in her eye. "You think I was playing?"
Honestly, it was getting harder to think about the technicalities of _anything_ just now, but to humor her, he grinned. "Weren't you? Or were you 'teasing' me? Really, sweetheart, it all feels the same to a man...."
He lowered his head to brush his lips against her collarbones, then moved lower.
Gaiya sighed contentedly as her eyelids fluttered closed. "It's about time you woke up, Ar'lis."
