Ayumith trumpeted her challenge. Her green hide shone brightly in the sun shine and her eyes glowed purple.
"Here we go again," Aishara muttered. This time, she was prepared for it.
**Cacholetyth?**
The blue had lifted his head into the air and bellowed a reply to the call echoing around the Weyr. }:Ayumith,:{, she rises was all the dragon could say to his young rider.
Rahmuth responded to the young green's challenge, and Sh'dori was making his way to the green's rider with leasurely pace.
D'cal looked up at Aosorath on his perch. The sun shone off his sky-colored hide as the little blue stamped his feet in anticipation.
His rider felt nervous for him as he took his place in the circle of riders wanting her.
}:She was mine before! I want her again!:{ Auymith preened when she saw all the males she had attracted. Then she launched herself to the air.
Rahmuth didn't waste time following her.
Cacholetyth was there too, and his rider. V'con smiled at Aishara as his blue took to the air, crooning seductively to the green.
Ayumith found a strong air-current she could ride, that gave her a head start from her chasers. Her smaller size made it easier to just 'surf' the wind.
The usually laid-back Aosorath hissed at the other blue as he overtook him. He was small too. Small and fast. Speed had won out the last time and a little bit of luck. But he had another advantage over the others this time. }:I flew you before. I want to fly you again. We can fly high together! Let me catch you...:{ }:Take me!:{ called Cacholetyth. }:Let me show you how _I_ can fly.:{ }: I'm big and strong, choose me, choose me! :{ Rahmuth pleaded.
}: Hah! First you have to catch me! :{ Ayumith mocked them and stared her dance of sudden twists, turns and drops and ascends.
If any of them could keep up with her climb for climb or dive for dive it was the little blue Aosorath. But he was starting to grow wiser.
When he was a new chaser he used to do just that, chase and chase until another dragon caught her and the chase was over. Now, he understood that most were caught on the decent, not the ascent. He decided to follow her on dives, but not follow her all the way on her climbs in the hope that he'd be ready to catch her on her way down again.
Cacholetyth meanwhile tried to anticipate where Ayumith would place herself and put himself there. He would do this, he knew he would.
Ayumith flew into a cloud and suddenly started to drop altitude. The cloud hid her from view and her move would surprise everyone.
And maybe, just maybe this time Cacholetyth would be lucky. That cloud, could she come out from the bottom?
Rahmuth followed her into the cloud. But Ayumith was already out of it, diving below it.
The blue had been right, the green came by him. }:Mine!:{ he called spreading his wings across her path. }:You're mine.:{ Rahmuth growled angrily when he heard that victorious call. The brown turned around to return hom.
Ayumith willingly surrendered to the winner and her rider did same.
