Characters: Gaiya, Ar'lis
Description: Gaiya and Ar'lis share some early morning banter
Location: River Bluff Weyr
Date: month 8, day 24 of Turn 3

Sighing, Ar'lis stared up at his weyr's ceiling, watching the shadows dance across the walls. The sun was just starting to come up, and he could hear Zylarth shifting from his couch onto the ledge so he could catch the first rays. Smiling lazily - he wouldn't mind catching some sun either, later - he stretched, his toes bunching into the furs at the foot of the bed, his arm tightening gently around Gaiya's shoulders. She was still asleep. Shards, but she was downright cute when she was asleep. She had this way of curling her hand up near her cheek...and those lips of hers puckered ever so slightly...

Grinning, he leaned down to brush his cheek against her hair, his fingers rubbing in circular motions down her arm.

"Shards, that tickles," Gaiya mumbled as one eye cracked open a bit. "I thought _I_ was the early riser."

He chuckled, his hand brushing her hair back from her neck before giving her a nibbling kiss there. "I can be an early riser, love..." His eyes gleamed down into hers. "And some parts of me are."

"I knew I was having a possitive effect on you," she smiled as her eye closed again under the touch of his lips. She reached her arm around his back and began tracing lazy lines along his spine.

The bronzerider shifted more onto his side, enjoying her touch. "That you do, sweetheart." He brushed his nose across her brow. "I'm sorry I woke you," he murmured against her skin. "Go back to sleep... It is a restday, after all..."

"I am resting," she whispered as she kissed his chin gently.

Ar'lis smiled and began tracing kisses along her hairline, one hand moving to stroke through the strands. "Unless you wanted to stay in my bed all day, I think we should go catch a few rays...later."

She hummed her agreement. "That would be nice. I think its been a couple days since I've seen the sun. Some bronzerider I know keeps me trapped indoors."

He laughed, gently rolling her over on top of him. Placing his hands on her hips to steady her, he lightly kissed at her lips. "Surely that's not a complaint? If it is, you know we could always take some blankets and make a comfortable nest out near a lagoon and...occupy ourselves there..."

"That's one way to catch a few rays," she conceeded as she ran her fingers through his bed hair.

"Then we should do that today..." He stretched lightly, running his fingers down her legs. "If we'll ever get up..."

"And that seems to be a big 'if'." She jumped a bit as his fingers found a tickelish spot. "Although, you keep tickling me that way and I just might run away from you. Are you this mean to all your ladies in the morning?"

"I'm never mean to any of the ladies, sweetheart," he grinned as his fingers found that little sensitive spot again. He lightly trailed his nail down and around it. "Why? Is _this_ mean?"

"Yes, it _is_," she squealed as she rolled off of him and away from his teasing fingers.

Grinning, he rolled and crawled after her, grabbing her arm and pinning her down. "That was one of the more interesting noises I've ever heard in all my Turns, Gaiya," he chuckled, running his other hand down her side. He'd never had a woman _squeal_ in his bed before.

"Enough, enough!" She gasped a wriggled as his fingers tickled her sides.
"Shards, I'm supposed to be _resting_!"

Moving off her, he laughed and propped himself up on an elbow to look down into her flushed face. "All right, all right. I'm stopping. I promise not to be 'mean' anymore."

Gaiya smiled up at him, working to catch her breath. "I used to always wonder how it was that no one could catch you. I think I'm starting to understand it was probably the other way around!" She gave him a little wink to let him know she was only teasing.

He chuckled. "The other way around? Explain that to me, hmm?"

"You're mean in the mornings when I'm sleepy and grumpy and you should be especially nice." She pouted for effect.

He ran a finger across her lower lip lightly. "You're not grumpy, love.
I've _known_ grumpy women, and you certainly don't fall under that category."

"I could be grumpy," she replied wrinkling her nose. "Maybe you just don't know what a grumpy Gaiya looks like. What do your other grumpy women look like?"

He studied her thoughtfully for a moment, then grinned. "Well, for one thing, the grumpy women are usually older than you, sweetheart. By about a decade or so," he winked, letting his hand wander from her lips to the line of her throat.

"Good, I have something to look forward to. What else?"

"They're crankiest when they're cold. Or when it's raining. I'll pile furs and all sorts of blankets on them and they'll _still_ be cold. And then they snap at me." His eyes gleamed down into hers. "And when they do that, I give in and let them stick their cold feet between my legs. And let me tell you something, love - when I say cold I mean _cold_."

"I don't like being cold either," Gaiya said, wrinkling her nose. "Next time I've cold feet I'll know what to do though."

**Great, Ar'lis. You're giving her _ideas_...** He made a face at her as he tapped the tip of her nose warningly with a finger. "Just so long as you don't stick them _too_ high up, hmm?"

A wicked grin crossed her face. "Don't worry, no permanent damage."

"_Gaiya_," he growled warningly, lowering his head to her neck. "Sticking a block - no, _two_ blocks - of ice on a man's balls will not help the situation much..."

"Ah, but I know ways of warming them up again," she replied with an not-so innocent gleam in her eye.

His grin was almost feral when he raised his head to look at her. "I know you do."

"Well, why don't we take those blankets you were talking about and go to the lagoon you were thinking of and," she sat up and whispered into his ear, "we can skip ahead to the warming up part..."

His eyes glinted down into hers. "Eager are you?" Well, he was too. He sharding wanted to take her again, here and _now_. But spending the day at the lagoon _did_ sound like a rather pleasant adventure...

"Of course. The faster we get to the lagoon, the faster I can demonstrate just how pleasant cold feet can be."

"Well then," he chuckled, taking her hand and rising from the bed, "come with me, sweetheart."
