"E'ron, you done with that chart?" F'gol asked as he pointed across the work table. The two blueriders were studying their wind patterns in the empty lounge at the end of their corridor.

"Huh?" E'ron looked up. "Oh, this one? Yeah." He slid it over.

F'gol noticed his distraction as he took the chart and set it down on top of the others. "We can take a break if you want. This is all just a refresher, we don't need to study too hard at it."

He sighed. "A break would be good."

"I'll just put these up." F'gol grabbed the pile they'd already gone through and stood up to put them back on the shelf.

"Thanks." E'ron stood up to stretch.

Finding the small step ladder right where he'd left it, F'gol climbed up the narrow rungs to reach the top shelf, stretching to put the charts in their proper place. A small wobble turned into a larger one as F'gol felt his footing fall out from under him.

"Woah!" E'ron darted forward and reached out, catching F'gol. "You alright?" he asked, arms still around his fellow rider.

"Um, yeah." F'gol replied uncertainly as he tried to reason out how he'd ended up on the floor. "You know, I've got the smooth moves is all."

E'ron chuckled, and suddenly found his heart racing. He was so close ... There wasn't really any thought to it. E'ron leaned in and kissed F'gol.

F'gol's eyes widened as the rest of his body froze for just an instant. Then he propelled himself back away from E'ron and into the next bookcase, hitting his head as a book fell off the shelf. He rubbed at his head as he tried to think of a way not to hurt E'ron's feelings, or more importantly, cause strain between them. "Hey now, I
know you saved me and all, but it's not _required_ to kiss the damsel."

"Oh shards I'm sorry!" The words came out in a rush as E'ron backed away. "I didn't mean to ... I'm sorry!"

"Careful." F'gol stood and waved the book in front of him, "These things attack you if you get too close." Why had E'ron kissed him? They were both blueriders, true, but E'ron had never acted interested in any of the other male riders before.

"What was all that wrestling on the floor about?" H'vari asked lazily as he entered the room. He'd been passing when the noise had attracted his attention - and the scene that played out had made him chuckle. "Did F'gol need kissing to make it better?"

If possible, E'ron turned an even darker shade of red. "I--I need to check on Feykenth ..." He fled the room, dodging past H'vari.

"Aww, E'ron!" H'vari called after the bluerider. "Come back, you wherry!"

"Cut it out, H'vari!" F'gol growled as he shoved the greenrider into the table. "You should know better."

H'vari pushed the bluerider back, but it was a half-hearted attempt. "What's _wrong_ with everybody today? Are we going after him? It's not like we don't know where he lives," he pointed out with a grin for he was as naturally charming as he was lazy.

F'gol hesitated. He didn't think E'ron wanted to be gone after. Then again though, he didn't want things to be uncomfortable between them come drills tomorrow, especially not in front of everyone. That wasn't the only reason he hesitated though. He should be upset, angry even that E'ron had kissed him... but he wasn't. He wasn't excited
about it either though, more neutral than anything. It surprised him, and unsettled him. "I'll go after him. You've done enough for tonight."

H'vari rolled his eyes. "Well you go and hold his hand, then, or kiss him better or whatever. And tell him not to be so wherry-brained."

He turned towards the door, then turned back towards the greenrider, F'gol's eyes hard. "Don't mention this tomorrow, or ever. If I find out you're embarrassing E'ron, you'll regret it."

"Oh, please. You don't scare me and E'ron's just got to toughen up. if this is how he reacts to a bit of teasing, how's he going to be in Thread?"

"It's not the same thing and you know it. And you'll be mucking out stalls till we graduate if you don't reign it in." F'gol had never used his authority as group leader before, and perhaps that was why H'vari wasn't taking him seriously, but he would if he had to.

"He won't be fit to live and work among dragonriders if he doesn't learn to handle things people say, so how about you worry about his behavior and not mine?" The weyrling greenrider leaned forward and met F'gol's eyes. "Think about what I said - nothing bad. Nothing I wouldn't have said if it had been you and your goldrider rolling around of the floor kissing. And she would have laughed it off as the joke it was."

F'gol growled, he didn't like the greenrider bringing Meledei into the discussion either, nor did he like that H'vari had a point. "He's plenty fit. He's obviously just got some issues he needs to resolve. You don't need to harass him about it though. I said _I'll_ talk to him. _You_ stay out of it."

"Go, go and talk to him. I'm not rushing after him to 'harass' him, am I?"

Sometimes F'gol wanted to just smack the him. Instead he opted for another threatening stare before turning his back on the greenrider and heading after E'ron.
