"Meledei!" F'gol lept onto Elleth's ledge, not bothering to go inside the Weyr and approach from the door side. Elleth was on the heights with Tealth, so he didn't have to worry about disturbing the gold.
"F'gol!" Meledei called out in response and grinned as she came into sight. A bound hide book dangled in her right hand, but it was forgotten at the arrival of the bluerider. "Hey, I wasn't expecting you for a while. Is something wrong?"
He grinned as he stopped in front of her. "Didn't you hear? R'bul's green just rose for her first flight."
"Did you catch her?" Meledei knew, of course. She set the book down upon the small table and looked back up at F'gol. "Tealth chased, right?"
"No!" F'gol cried, "Thank Faranth, he didn't even seem interested."
"But he will be eventually." Meledei managed to hide her relief. While she didn't mind if Tealth chased others, _she_ wanted to be F'gol's first. She wanted to be the first person to share his bed, and him to be hers. Yet, things hadn't moved the way she had wanted.
F'gol nodded a grin on his face. "Exactly. R'bul might be the first from our group, but he won't be the only one. Which is why I call our courting officially over."
"Really?" Meledei took a step closer to the young man. "You sure?"
"You're not?" F'gol teased, taking her up in his arms and kissing her soundly.
Meledei leaned against him and let her arms lace around his neck. "I'm sure, but are _you_?" They both needed to be comfortable with it. She didn't want him to do it because he thought she was impatient.
"Meledei, I've been ready since five minutes after we sat on Onnyth's ledge for the first time." He replied with a smirk. "I just can't believe you let me stubbornly carry on for so long about the whole thing."
"If I didn't, it might have made things take _longer_." Meledei grinned and pecked him upon his lips before she pulled from his embrace, though one hand slid down his arm to clasp at his. She turned and pulled him after her.
"What, you want to do it right now?" Not that F'gol was complaining, now that he had it in his mind, he was ready to jump out of his skin. "Don't you want it all romantic and stuff?"
"You want to wait longer?" Frankly, Meledei was tired of waiting, but hey, she couldn't complain about a guy who actually wanted to get romantic!
In answer, F'gol scooped Meledei into his arms, pleased to notice he didn't have any difficulty in doing it, and carried her the rest of the distance to the bed. "Not even another minute longer."
Meledei squealed in delight and looped an arm around his neck. "You're not eager, are you?"
Her question made him stop in his tracks. He remembered what some of the other boys had said about their first times. That they were too eager. He laid her on the bed and looked down at her. "Meledei, just promise me you won't be disappointed at first. Remember, we have the entire evening to figure things out."
"Disappointed?" Meledei cocked her head to the side and regarded F'gol as he stood above her. "I mean, I don't expect things to be the best the first time, or even the second. Maybe not the third, but eventually, we'll get it right."
F'gol grinned as he pulled his shirt off over his head and climbed onto the bed with her and began a trail of nibbling kisses that started at her neck and worked up to her lips. "I don't think it'll take that long. I am a quick learner after all."
Meledei giggled and writhed but didn't pull away. Quite the contrary, she wiggled closer to him. "You are? I guess we'll see if I am."
"We'll learn together." He suggested as his hands found the laces of her dress. "All night."
