"When are they going to post them!" F'gol asked impatiently. They'd been told T'kob was going to post the list of their wing assignments before dinner so almost everyone had been hanging out in the common room of the barracks ever since drills had gotten out.

"Soon, I'm sure." Meledei wasn't as antsy as F'gol was to find out. After all, she knew right where she was going - the Queen's Wing. It made no sense to put her anywhere else. Of course, she was the only one who knew where she was going. Every one else was waiting eagerly. "Just be patient."

Sorsha and Ri'len walked up to the pair. Sorsha glanced at the empty announcement board and then back at the group. "At least you'll find out today. I've got to wait another month or more to find out where I'll go."

"Unless you break your arm again when you go back to your training." F'gol replied with a smirk. "Hope you learn how to catch this time."

Sorsha's reply was a solid punch with her non broken arm to F'gol's shoulder.

Ri'len chuckled softly. Outwardly he was calm, simply standing beside Sorsha, hands clasped behind him. Inwardly he was almost as impatient at the others - he was just better at hiding it. "How do they choose who goes where? Is it simply a matter of what wing needs brown, blue or bronze? Or are there other factors?"

"Oh I'm sure they--" F'gol dropped off as T'kob walked into the room, a large sheet of paper in his hands.

The room had fallen silent almost as soon as he'd entered, and T'kob could feel all eyes on him as he approached the center of the room where the announcement board was. It was a proud moment, his first weyrling class almost ready to graduate, and now they would find out where they would begin their life as full fledged dragonriders. "I
know you're all anxious to find out where you're going so I'll just go down the list by wings. First off, Hurricane Wing; Ri'len, K'sen, F'gol, Aliah, and J'mevek."

The Hurricane Wing. Ri'len hadn't quite expected that. The Weyrleader's Wing. Ri'len had thought he'd be put in a different one, but evidently the Weyrlingmasters had some confidence in him.

Meledei grinned and nudged F'gol with her elbow. "Congratulations." She whispered.

The Weyrleader's Wing. F'gol was somewhat stunned, but his eye met Ri'len's and he was finally able to crack a grin. Being in the same wing as Ri'len would be great.

Standing near them, Cosani breathed a small sigh of relief. She wasn't going to be in her father's Wing. Being under his direct command wasn't something she wanted. Who had made the decision? The Weyrlingmaster, or her father? Worry crept into her belly. Had N'vanik not wanted her in his Wing?

}:Why would anyone not want us? We are perfect!:{ Shalith commented.

**It doesn't matter, anyway. We'll find out soon enough where we end up.** Cosani turned her attention back to the Weyrlingmaster.

"For Volcano Wing, we have Meledei and Javalia." T'kob scanned the crowd for the newly pregnant greenrider. Javalia was only just sixteen and the hold girl was having a hard time with the news. He saw her, surrounded by her friends and felt confident that she would not be alone once she left his protection.

Meledei smiled to the greenrider and nudged her gently. They would be wingmates, for awhile anyway. Javalia was a sweet girl and Meledei would be glad to work with her while they were together.

"There are quite a few of you heading to Cyclone Wing," T'kob said with a grin, knowing that K'hetah was going to have his hands full with some of these. "Z'ku, Cosani, D'wol, T'nel, Kanja, Latti, and R'min. Congratulations."

Cyclone. That wasn't bad, Z'ku thought. It wasn't as good as the Weyrleader's Wing, but it was still good.

Meledei inched over to Cosani and hugged her. Then she smiled over to Z'ku and winked at him in congratulations. They would make wonderful riders. She glanced over at Sorsha, sorry that the greenrider would have to wait to graduate. Hopefully she wouldn't feel too out of place. Ri'len didn't look excited or anything. He simply stood there, a smile upon his face, though not brilliant. The young man didn't seem to express his emotions like some. It was kind of funny, really.

"Sorsha, E'ron, Zai, Sh'lab, R'biben, Slinava, Hulli, Obuva. You're all Tsunami until you come of age or your injuries permit you to complete training." T'kob finished after going over all the other names. "If you've any questions, I'll be in my office. I want you to know how proud I am of all of you. Enjoy your restday tomorrow, you're dismissed."

E'ron was glad he would have some extra time to prepare before joining the Wings, but it was hard to see so many of his classmates go on without him. Especially F'gol. Despite still struggling with his attraction for him, F'gol was his friend and E'ron couldn't help worrying if the older bluerider would have any time for him now.

Meledei wished Sorsha hadn't gotten hurt. She must feel awful not to graduate with Ri'len. Meledei cast a glance over at the couple. Ri'len stood with his arm around Sorsha and she could see it tighten a little with the announcement.

"Okay, now that that's over..." F'gol said squeezing in between Meledei and Cosani, throwing his arms around both girls and grinning as he felt Cosani stiffen, "Shall we all go celebrate?"

"I say yes!" Meledei grinned and reached out to take Cosani's hand and squeeze it.

Ri'len leaned over to kiss Sorsha on the top of her head. They were still weyrlings, but not for much longer. That time in their lives was coming to an end.
