C'jex lay near the lake, basking in the sun that warmed his bare chest
as Malty barked and chased something only she could see. Whatever it
was had attracted the mutt's full attention, so much so that Malty
darted right into the lake, barking like mad.

"Malty, you silly dog, get out of the water!" C'jex called propping
himself up and laughing at the sight of the now drenched pooch. That
was _before_ she came running over to him and all but drowned him as
she jumped onto his chest with a happy bark and a lick to his face.

"Silly girl, now look what you've done? I'm all wet!" C'jex shook his
head playfully and patted her soaked fur. Shoving her off, he sat up
and said "Go dry off over there." He pointed off to the side and was
pleased when she obeyed.

**My trousers are soaked! At least my shirt is dry** he thought as he
stood and stripped off the soaked trousers, draping them over the
grass to dry. He eyed the water. Now that he was up, perhaps a nice
little dip in the lake would be worth it. With a grin, he reached out
and touched Ohoneth's thoughts, **Want to go for a swim my friend?**

}I always love a good swim{ Ohoneth replied, lifting from his basking
spot and heading towards the water just as C'jex dove in.

P'ros stood with his back pressed firmly against an oak. Between his
teeth was a piece of straw that he chewed on half heartedly as he
watched the other man take to the water. Wiping a stream of sweat from
his brow, he looked toward the sky and frowned. Taking a dip didn't
seem like such a bad idea. Especially not when there was so much good
company close by. He'd probably regret it tonight when the temperature
fell, but now, with caution precariously tossed to the wind, he'd do
as he pleased and think about the consequences later.

P'ros quickly disrobed and, whistling lightheartedly, walked toward
the water's edge. He stood there barely covered for all to see. In the
distance he watched the blue dragon writhe around in the water with
his rider close by. He should make his presence known.

"Mind if I join you?" he called out to the other man. Taking a band
from his wrist he pulled his hair back from his face.

C'jex looked up and grinned. "Sure, hop in. We don't mind." He ducked
under Ohoneth's wing and came up splashing and laughing. That was when
Malty decided to dive into the water and join the fun as well. The
giant splash she caused, sent C'jex holding his arms up to protect his
face even while he laughed and laughed. "Don't mind her. She's
friendly, though she sure knows how to splash." He swatted at Malty's
back, but the pup had already begun to swim over to the newcomer,
curious as ever.

"You're P'ros, right?" He seen the other rider around the Weyr,
but they hadn't talked much before.

"Yes, that's my name," he said, standing up a tad bit taller. He
hadn't expected the other man to recognize him. They hadn't talked
much before now. Carefully walking into the water, he eyed the dog
curiously before turning his attention back to C'jex.

"Everyone knows your name of course, C'jex," he said stroking the
other man's ego for good measure. His eyes twinkled as he smiled
smugly. P'ros reached out a hand and stroked Malty who made a lap
around him. Lowering himself into the water, he kicked off away from
the shallow ground into deeper waters.

C'jex felt a surge or pride. _Everyone_ knew his name? He laughed,
knowing that wasn't exactly true, but he did have many friends. C'jex
was so laid-back that he got along with most anyone.

"So, P'ros ," he called when the other man emerged from the water,
"What brings you out here to this lake today? Not too many seem to
frequent this area. That's one reason we like it," he'd swiped his arm
to indicate himself and his animal companions.

C'jex had been watching P'ros . He couldn't help it. He watched
everyone, admired everyone. And P'ros deserved some admiration. He had
a fine form. With a half smile tweaking his lips, C'jex flopped onto
his back and floated as with a few pulls of his strong arms he found
himself in the heart of the lake as well.

P'ros moved his arms back and forth as he floated in the water. His
compliment seemed to have done its job. A few more of those and he'd
have someone to spend the night with. That _was_ his reason for coming
out from the shadows just now. He was looking for some fun and from
what he had heard, C'jex could offer him that. A smile tugged at his
lips as he thought of just _what_ C'jex could offer him.

He couldn't very well tell that to him all of this however. He was
bold, but he didn't want to come off as needy or worse, desperate.

"I was looking for good company. Ogith is off tending to a flirtatious
green and I didn't want to spend the day alone." He paused then. "If
I'm bothering you I can leave," he added.

"Not at all," C'jex told him, lowering his legs to tread water in the
deeper part. "We don't mind, do we gang?" He called out, laughingly,
as though he expected Malty to answer.

}:I never mind,:{ Ohoneth told him, wallowing down into some of the
sands by the lake's edge. }: You're attracted to him. If you like him,
I like him.:{

C'jex grinned, **I'm attracted to just about anything on two legs,**
he playfully told Ohoneth, before turning back to P'ros . "Want to
help me give Ohoneth a bit of a bath? He'd like the extra hands?" **I
wouldn't mind seeing what those hands can do, either.**

P'ros moved closer to the other rider, nodding as he drew close.
"Sure, I'd love to." That reminded him, Ogith had been asking for a
thorough scrubbing too. It was only a matter of time before the huge
blue tore their weyr apart with frustrations because he wasn't being
'treated well.' Ogith had a selective memory it seemed. He had oiled
his entire hide on his own the other day. His body had been sore ever
since.

"I've been looking for a way to get a bit of exercise in today.
Bathing Ohoneth should work warm up these tired muscles of mine," he
said, winking at C'jex playfully. He could think of other more
pleasurable ways to 'warm up' too, but they could get to that later.

"Wonderful!" C'jex exclaimed, swimming over to Ohoneth, his legs
brushing against those of P'ros as he swam past until he found a spot
his feet could touch the bottom.

"Alright Ohoneth, we're going to give you a good scrubbing. You better
behave or P'ros and I will go and play without you!" C'jex turned and
winked at P'ros , imagining what kind of play they _might_ be able to
enjoy. He knew not all blue riders liked joining with other blue
riders, but so far, P'ros seemed...interested.

}:Just scrub my left hide above the leg. I don't want a full bath. I
want to go back to me perch:{ ** You silly, you always love laying in
the sun** :}So do you!:{ **True** C'jex grinned.

"He only wants his left side right above his leg scrubbed. He wants to
go sunbathe instead!" C'jex motioned P'ros closer. They would have to
stand nearly side by side in order to both work on that small section
of Ohoneth's hide.

P'ros moved over to stand beside C'jex. Bathing a dragon wasn't the
most romantic thing in the world, but if it allowed him to be in
P'ros's company for a moment longer he'd scrub the dragon's entire
hide.

"Does Ohoneth want a firm or soft scrubbing?" he asked, the meanings
behind his words making him smile to himself. "I heard that dragons
and their riders have similar preferences. Ogith and I do."

C'jex laughed, a truly boisterous and merry sound. "If that's the
case, my friend, then we both prefer a nice firm hand that can be
quite gentle as well." His eyes danced with amusement as he looked at
his new-found friend. "I bet we could have this spot firmly scrubbed
in time to enjoy a little sunbathing of our own, if, that is, you'd
like to join me?" It was a pure invitation. P'ros's actions had led
C'jex to make the offer. He reached a hand just under the water and
ran it along the other man's chest. "I could use a little company," he
grinned and winked at P'ros before turning to grab a handful of sand
to rub into Ohoneth's side.

"How could I refuse such an invitation?" P'ros said with a smile.

It didn't take long to satisfy Ohoneth's scrubbing. All the while,
C'jex felt the closeness of P'ros as he watched the other man's
muscles ripple with exercise. He couldn't wait to see those muscles
working with him in their arms.

Ohoneth shifted. }:Go play. I'm ready to nap.:{

C'jex turned to P'ros, standing nearly chest to chest with the other
rider, he caught a breath. "Ohoneth says he's done, but I'm just
beginning," he whispered as he leaned in and captured P'ros's lips
with his own.

P'ros' strong arms wrapped around C'jex in an immediate response.
Pleasure rippled through him as their tongue's entwined in an intimate
foretaste of what was to come.
