Description: J'ren and Rhosyn take a turn on the dance floor.
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 2, day 18 of Turn 6

J'ren had already made his way around the floor with multiple people. The
women were lovely, dressed in their finest, flaunting their beauty. A
flirty greenrider dressed in red laughed and teased the entire time and J'ren had enjoyed it. A black haired beauty clad in purple and silver had impressed him with her poise and grace. But there were two women J'ren was
particularly looking forward to dancing with and when he espied one of them who just happened to be free, he crossed over and quickly inserted himself in her path. A grin spread over his face and J'ren offered a bow. "Rhosyn, I do believe you promised me a dance."

She turned and her eyes searched. Once they settled on a visage she knew,
she nodded. "That is true, J'ren." Moving herself forward, she waited
until he had time to see her-all of her-and she waited for his reaction.

J'ren looked her up and down and smiled, then held out his hand. "Nice
dress, Rhosyn," he commented. It was obvious what she was waiting for so
he offered the compliment just as he offered his escort. "I've been looking forward to this dance with you."

She took his arm and allowed him to lead. They had danced at Dragonsfall,
but this was different. Her eyes moved to some of the others in the crowd.
Rhosyn had been held back for so long. Now, she would do what she pleased.
"I didn't know if you'd come."

"Why is that?" he asked, leading her around the floor with slow, easy
steps. He shortened his pace, knowing he'd fling any partner he had into a
dizzying array of dancing if he didn't. J'ren was used to shortening his step for a lot of people! "A hatching is always a pleasure to watch and the parties afterwards are always enjoyable."

He had seemed upset the last time they had spoken, but Rhosyn didn't press
the issue. "The food was good," she commented as she began to focus more
on keeping to the same rhythm as him.

"Yes it was." J'ren agreed. Of course, for special events - and at a
Weyr, a hatching was a _very_ special event - Weyrs tended to bring out their best of the best. "Have you been enjoying yourself?"

"Mmmm so far, yes. The dancing and music has been very good. We need to
get some new harper blood at the Weyr." She mused about that, thinking she
might just make a trip to the harper hall in the future.

"Don't care for the ones we have?" J'ren didn't have a problem with any
of the harpers of River Bluff personally and he was curious as to _why_ the
Weyrwoman wanted more - especially when the Weyr harpers and Hall's
didn't always run around in the same circles.

"Well most of the ones we have are also riders so they're not full time.
It'd be nice to have more people who have the time to put on full scale
performances like this." She thought about R'masu and the rest.

"Ah." J'ren wasn't sure exactly how many harpers the Weyr had - that
wasn't really something he dealt with in his position. "Do you have plans on holding a performance that's outside of a hatching feast?" he queried with curiosity.

"Well, with three laying golds, we have plenty of those soo...that'd be a
job in itself. And there's Turnover. Plus, from time to time, it's just
good to have music and dancing." Rhosyn enjoyed having people come to the
Weyr. It gave them a chance to show them what life as a rider was really
like.

"Indeed, and one can never have too much music and dancing, especially
with beautiful partners to dance with." J'ren grinned, his eyes
twinkling.

"Flattery won't get you very far in my book. Won't hurt you either
though," she teased good-naturedly.

"It's easy to flatter someone like you." J'ren teased as he swept her
into a twirl, his feet covering the space easily. "Besides, you should be used to it."

"Yeah but sometimes it's hard to know what's sincere and what isn't. Don't
get me wrong, I like having a nice weyr and all that but I don't like it
when people tell me what I want to hear." That was one reason she liked
N'vanik. He would stand up to her.

"Then you'll be glad to know I spoke the truth. Of course, there are quite
a few beautiful women here, but you are among them." J'ren chuckled. "I
have no plans to say anything but the truth to you Weyrwoman, have no fear."

She was quiet for a time then, enjoying the music and the dancing. Her
eyes flitted onto some of the others. As the music slowed, then ended, she
pulled herself back. "Thanks for the dance."

J'ren pulled away and gave Rhosyn a low bow. "Thank you, Weyrwoman. It's
been a great pleasure." He straightened and gave her a grin. "I should
go find the lady I've escorted and steal another dance for her. Enjoy the
rest of the evening." With an incline of his head, the bronzerider turned
and moved on into the crowd.
