Description: For the third time running, V'con has to wake up next to
Ch'din after their dragons have yet another winning Flight
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 3, day 3 of Turn 6
Slowly Ch'din came back into himself. The room was dark, a sweaty and
heavily panting body was beside him. As his senses returned he
realised he had just had a Flight. But that was odd, for once he
wasn't sore. It must have been a fast and frantic one then. He
glanced down at the clothes sprawled across the room and saw...one of
the tunics was a bright yellow, a colour worn more commonly by women
than the men around here and..it had a ladies' ruffled neckline.
Sitting bolt upright, he turned.
Seeing who it was, he sucked in his breath and just looked, dark eyed,
at the winner of his green's flight.
V'con looked back, sucking in his breath briefly. Why did this have to
happen again? "Good flight," he grunted.
Ch'din sighed and nodded. What more could he say other than his green
must really hate him. And why did V'con have to look so damn good
this time? He could almost lick the sweat beading on his upper lip.
All he wanted to do was lay back under the bluerider. Realising where
his mind was going, he shook his head and sighed again.
"Cacholetyth chose your green again." V'con tried to not look at the
greenrider, despite his personal feelings, his blue had formed some sort of
attachment to the green, he couldn't deny that. And with the last remnants
of fight lust, right now - well Ch'din looked good to him.
The other lad reached out to his green. "Yeah, she's_really_smug
right now." At that he gave V'con a rare smile. "She really likes
him you know."
"I gathered," that seemed to be the understatement of the turn. "Cacholetyth
has obviously managed to impress himself on her."
Too bad the same couldn't be said for the rider, Ch'din thought to
himself, sighing unhappily as he caught the sharp edge to V'con's
voice. "Well, maybe I should go." He looked around for his clothes.
"Wait," V'con reached out a hand, attempting to stop the greenrider.
"Yes?" He turned back, his voice soft.
"We should talk about this, why it happens."
Ch'din sighed and settled back on the bed, close to V'con. "Yeah we
should. Or at the very least what are we going to do about this."
"No one can predict what they will do."
"No, certainly we even can't and we're their riders." He sighed
mightily again. "So what are we going to do?"
"We could try talking to them," suggested V'con. "Make them understand that
it isn't good for us."
Ch'din's face fell at that. Saying something like that to his little
green just seemed too cruel. He glanced at V'con sadly and wished at
some deep level that he'd just kiss him and hold him for a bit instead
of talking about how they had to get their dragons to not become
weyrmated, which certainly was going to happen. "How do you suggest
we do that?" He winced when his voice broke on the last word.
"Tell her how it makes you feel, she'll understand that, surely?"
"But what about how she feels?" He reached out for her once more,
feeling how happy and pleased she was now. No way, there was no way
he was telling her to stop it with V'con's blue. If she was that
happy and she was all that made Ch'din's life worth living,
then...there was no way he could do that to her, to them. Tears
welled up in his eyes as he looked honestly into V'con's. "I can't.
I love her more than I hate you."
"It's mutual," the softer tone of earlier was forgotten. "Much as I'd love
to call you all the names under the sun, Cacholetyth has a mind of his own."
"Which brings us back to your earlier question, what do we do?"
Ch'din licked his lips, remembering what it felt like with V'con on
top of him, doing...he shook his head, trying to stop the Flight lust.
He could feel sweat breaking out on him, as his body begged him to
give in and coax V'con to take him.
"What do you think," snapped V'con as he got up and reached for his under
shorts. "We've got no sharding choice, have we."
Ch'din dropped his head down, shaking it. Tears, unwanted, ran down
his cheeks, falling to the upturned palm on his lap. **Please, just
go, stop hurting me** he shouted in his head.
"Cry baby," muttered V'con, the words muffled as his tunic was pulled over
his head.
The other boy heard that and began crying in earnest. Not just tears
but great big whooping sobs. He had nothing outside Anyanth, nothing at all.
Family gone since he didn't Impress the bronze they were so sure of, no true
friends since he had alienated them all back when he was a candidate and thought
he could deny what was in his heart with a few nasty words. No, he
only had her, and look at what she had done to him. Stuck him with a
person who was so nasty, so foul...so cruel.
"Get over yourself," was V'con's parting shot as he finished dressing and
left.
