Vandor

Vandor

She knew it was high time that she get herself looked at. At her turns,
it was just something preventative. Qorri had certainly been active,
but everyone knew that. She kept no secrets from the healer, so he
knew more than most just _how_ active the Headwoman was. She
chalked it up to making up for lost time. So she made her down to the
infirmary and waited to see him.

"Qorri." Vandor's voice didn't need much volume, it carried with
little effort. He smiled at the Headwoman, then motioned for her to
come back, then lead her to a more private area. "How can I help
you?"

"Well I think it's about that time again. Have to make sure all the
parts are in working order." She sighed, not enjoying the feeling of
being poked and prodded, but she knew it was for good cause.

"Well, we can get that taken care of, certainly." Vandor turned to a
small trunk, from which he pulled out a robe. "I'll just step out for
a moment. If you'll undress from the waist down, we can do your exam."

"You can stay healer, it isn't as if you haven't seen it all anyway."
Qorri shrugged. She pulled her skirts off easily and tossed aside the
undergarments she'd been wearing. Getting into position on the table,
she looked down.

"Indeed." Vandor slipped out, however, just before she removed any
clothing. A moment later he returned with a female assistant, though
he called out his intention to her before slipping back through with
her. "All right, had any problems before we begin?" He asked. The
sharp sting of redwort permeated the room and evidence of it was on his
hands.

"No, just the usual. I wish the time would come when my stupid menses
were over. It's not as if I need them anyway." Qorri was too old to bear
children to her way of thinking and she couldn't care for them if she
could.

"Every woman is different." Vandor began the exam and did his best to
make it quick. It wasn't generally the most comfortable thing for a
woman to do, and yet it was a good idea to have a check up - especially
once women hit their middle turns. Once finished, Vandor stepped out
to wash up and allow Qorri to have some privacy to get dressed
again. "Has your flow remained consistent?" He asked when he returned.

"Fairly. I've noticed when I work more often it can be a bit erratic,
but that seems to be normal." Qorri finished pulling her skirts up and
looked back at him. "And I check my breasts regularly for lumps."

"Good." Vandor nodded slowly. "Sounds like everything is fine. Of
course, if you have any problems, please don't hesitate to let us
know."

"The only thing...I've found myself using the necessary far more often
lately." It was an inconvenience at times, certainly.

"Have you been drinking more water?" Vandor knew that there were
multiple causes, but might as well start with the simplest solution.

"No more, no less. I always hydrate with it being so hot around here."
She knew it helped her keep from getting tired a lot quicker.

"Have you had any pain when urinating?" Vandor asked, knowing that
there could be an infection that would cause frequency, but usually
pain accompanied it.

"I haven't, healer," she answered easily.

"When was the last time you started your cycle?" She was older, yes,
but Vandor knew better than to assume that she couldn't have children
just because of her age.

"Three sevendays ago," she answered promptly.

"Do you find yourself having trouble holding it as long as you used
to?" Vandor asked as he made some notes on the Headwoman's chart.

"Mmm I can hold it, but I don't have as much warning when I have to go.
It's quite urgent most of the time." She had started the habit of
making herself try when she didn't have to go.

"Do you think you can give me a sample?" Vandor would have to analyze
it and see if there was something causing a problem. "If not now, I'd
like you to come back when you can."

"I can come back later today, certainly." She'd just gone before she
came so that was out of the question.

"If you would please, I'd like to rule out a few things." Vandor made
a note to himself and then nodded. "I'll let you know if I find anything."
