Description: Qorri gets D'ren to help her move some things.
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 4, day 10 of Turn 6
Notes: Mentioned: N'mor, R'mer
Qorri knew that R'mer was seeing someone else. She didn't know who,
but she didn't care much. As it was, though, the Headwoman needed
someone else to spend some time with. She had N'mor if she needed
to but someone new would be good. And so her eyes rested on D'ren.
D'ren noticed the Headwoman looking at him. "Hello Headwoman. Do you
need something?"
"Oh aye well, there are some heavy things in my quarters that needed
moving. All my big fellows are out unloading the tithe trains. I sure would
appreciate it.." Qorri glanced, judging his height and build. Oh he would do.
He couldn't say no to the Headwoman, so D'ren nodded. "Yes Ma'am. Do
you need me right now?"
"Oh no, it can wait a candlemark." She mentally went through the list of
things she needed to do to prepare herself.
D'ren nodded. "A candlemark, then. I'll be there."

Qorri had managed to find some heavy glow holders in the storage rooms
along with a few other things. That was good enough cover, at least. It wouldn't seem like the whole thing was a setup. So she waited in her quarters, sitting in the big chair in her light, flowing gown.
D'ren arrived at the Headwoman's quarters and knocked politely.
"Come in please," she said evenly, waiting to see just what she could get away with.
The bronzerider stepped in. "Hello Headwoman. What did you need me to
move?" Qorri looked rather relaxed, but this was her home and it was
the end of the day so he didn't think much of it.
"Oh there are those glow hangers there. Very heavy. I was hoping for
one in each corner, if you please." She readied herself to watch him work. A man's muscles in the process of moving something could be a wondrous sight.
"Alright." D'ren went about the room, setting the hangers in the
proper places, not aware that he was also providing the Headwoman with
a bit of entertainment.
"Oh thank you, I'd have never got them done myself." He was nicely
filled out, certainly.
"You're welcome Headwoman. Do you need anything else?"
"D'ren, do you have a weyrmate?" she asked conversationally.
"No ma'am." His mood darkened as he thought of Dysali. If things had
been different, if _he_ had been different, she might have ended up
his weyrmate.
"Oh, such a shame. A fine young rider like you. I'd have thought they'd be
kicking to get in your weyr," she said in her best deprecating tone.
D'ren cleared his throat. "Well, I don't have trouble finding company,
if I want it."
"You don't want it?" she asked him, looking hopeful.
The bronzerider shrugged. "Once in a while."
She put her hand suggestively across her breast. "Has it been awhile then?"
D'ren swallowed. He wasn't a gossip but he couldn't help overhearing
the rumors about the Headwoman liking younger men. It looked like the
rumors were true, and D'ren was her new target. "Not too long for me.
I'd rather have a long term relationship, but right now I'm not ready
for that."
"Well, that's fine. A longterm relationship isn't exactly what I was looking for. I'll make it worth your while." Leading him on, Qorri wasn't overt, but she didn't play around either.
"Thank you. I mean, I'm flattered, but ..." **You're the Headwoman.**
"I'm not interested. Sorry ma'am."
"Might I ask why?" Curious, she watched him.
"I tried casually sleeping around, but it's not for me." He shrugged.
"You're a rarity. Where were you born?" Qorri was wondering if he was just
giving her an excuse not to hurt her feelings or gain her ire. She was
not a woman to anger and most well knew it.
"A small Hold in Emerald Falls territory." Which reminded him he
hadn't visited in a while.
"Well that explains some of it. I was a holder once you know. A long time ago." She thought about those moments for a little bit then pushed them away. "You'd better go before I change my mind."
He blinked a little, then nodded. "Good night, Headwoman."
