Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr

}:Attiath is looking lovely today!:{

"Huh?" Sh'del looked up blurry eyed at the dragon Loranth was talking
about. With her minty coloured hide, he could see why she would catch
his brown's eye. **Yes, she's lovely, but try not to catch her in
Flight, okay?**

}:Why not?:{ The almost black dragon turned to look at his lifemate.

Sh'del eyed the dragon in question's rider wryly. **I'd prefer not to
have to endure being shagged to death, if you get my meaning.**

Varija had spotted the brown who was flirting with her Attiath and
more importantly, she had spotted the brown's rider. "Yohoo! Sh'del!"
She called, hurrying over to him.

"Hullo Varija." He stopped to let her catch up, being a gentleman by nature.

"How are you? Weyrlings keeping you busy?" she started with a small
talk and slid her arm under his.

"Of course. They're a cheeky lot, those weyrlings." He slowed his
walk to match her step. "How are you and Attiath doing these days?"

"We'll fine. Attiath is close to Rising, which your Loranth probably
already noticed," Varija replied.

"He has indeed." He patted her hand and grinned. "How are your kids?"

"Just fine, I think," Varija replied, hitting a sore spot. She had
barely any contact with her children. She only knew what Varnia was
doing because their dragons chatted.

"You think? How's that girl of yours doing in her studies?" Sh'del
was always interested in what other Smiths were doing.

"She doesn't have much time for it, being dragonrider now. Thank
Faranth for that!" she never understood why she wanted to be smith of
all crafts. It was such an unfeminine craft. And what did a woman do
in a craft anyway?

"Really? That's too bad. She seemed to be a really promising Smith."
He watched her out of the corner of his eye for her reaction.

"Smith," she scoffed. "*Girls shouldn't be smiths. If they absolutely
have to have a craft, let them become healer, or harper or sharding
weaver. Smithcraft should be left to men."

"Really? I quite like lady Smiths. They do some good work,
particularly in metalwork." Sh'del thought of all the women around in
his craft who had some beautiful work in copper or bronze or silver.

"But it's such a smelly, sweaty and noisy work!" Varija objected, she
was thinking traditional blacksmithing.

"It's not!" Sh'del laughed, shaking his head. "I do stone carving
and...well it might be a bit noisy but it's certainly not smelly or
sweaty!"

Varija gave him a long look. "It's all right for men to be sweaty,
it's kind of sexy...but women," she shook her head," should be fresh
and smelling good," She bumped him playfully with her hips.

Oh great. "Ah, but you see, I_like_sweaty women, particularly ones
that have been working over a forge all day." Maybe that would save
him.

Varija just gave him a very long and incredulous look.

With a gleam in his eye, Sh'del continued. "Oh yes, the way the sweat
shines off their bare arms--big strong arms, mind you, none of these
Lady Holder arms for me!--and their hair sopping wet..ah yes,
now_that_is a sexy woman." He nodded with a grin on his face.
"There's nothing like watching a woman at work over a forge."

Varija barely hid her disgust at the mere thought. She pulled away
from him. He was not certainly her type!
"Ah, I just remember, there's something I should be doing," she said
with rushed tone.

"Really? So I can't coax you into sweating it out over the forge for
a bit then?" He shook his head like he felt bad about that.

"No, not today," **... or ever!** Varija answered hastily.

"Are you sure?" He gave her a playful bump of the hips that was an
echo of the one she had done on him earlier.

"Yes, very sure," she replied. He just was not her type!

He did his best to look disappointed. }:Why are you laughing
inside?:{ Loranth asked. **I'll tell you later** Out loud, he
asked, "so I'll see you around sometime then?"

"I'm sure, bye!" Varija waived her hand and hurried off.

**Phew that was a close call!** Sh'del shook his head and walked back
to his brown. "Next time, tell me before you randomly begin flirting
with just any green, okay?"
