first rest day with the lovely Kirra.
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 8, day 14 of Turn 3
Z'al had been released only a few days ago. He was still limping slightly, but it was more from tightness of the healed skin then anything. It was a rest day and he intended to enjoy it. He had a basket full of wonderful eats and he was looking forward to a picnic. He also wanted to surprise the young candidate, he had enjoyed her company so much.
He finally found her in the weyrbowl. "Kirra!" He called. Kirra turned her head away from watching the wings in the sky with a look of surprise and then pure happiness. With a beautiful smile she started getting up. "Z'al! It's good to see you out of your sickbed! Is that a picnic basket?"
She smiled warmly knowing that he must have gotten out very recently and was spending probably his first restday out with her. "Yes, that it is. I was hoping you would like to go on a lovely picnic on the beach with me. It's such a lovely day and I've no wish to remain inside." He smiled. His smile was lopsided yet genuine. "I can't think of a more lovely person than you to go with."
Kirra's eyes sparkled at the obvious compliment. "Same here, but I must say your scars make you look quite dashing." She flipped her hair out of her face, showing her neck and shoulders, and smiling put her arm through the young rider's. She was wearing a tight tunic that didn't have sleeves, and had never felt it a more appropriate time to be wearing it. "I thank you. You, my dear lady are a gold amongst the greens. Allow me and my galliant brown to whisk you away." He smiled as his large brown landed.
His left wing had a nicely healed scar as did his shoulder, but he shown with health. He put his head on level with their's. "May I introduce you to Nyinth my lady?" Kirra smiled up at the large brown, with obvious awe in her eyes. She saw dragons of course, but it was always different with the dragon on eye level with you, looking at you with those beautiful eyes. "Good day, handsome brown Nyinth." She bowed her head to him, and as she lifted it up she saw her flit, Sunny hovering near the dragon's head. Still young he hadn't quite yet learned not to impeed upon a dragon's space, but he was a gentle flit and not very annoying, so she hopped Nyinth wasn't bothered by him.
"Sunny shoo! I'll play with you later!" She couldn't help but smile at the sweet flit's innocent look of "what did I do?" Nyinth just watched the flit. "It's alright Kirra my dear. that big lug is used to flits. I had Dis before he hatched and he grew up with him. He's no bother." He smiled as he got into position to help her up onto his dragon.
"Anyway Nyinth would probably scare the poor thing silly if he was bothering him."
"Feel free to do so Nyinth, the little thing takes advantage of his cuteness far too much." Kirra said playfully and the little Flit chirruped and popped out of the air.
Kirra giggled and then reaching up let Z'al help her onto the large brown.
As soon as she had settled into the harness she put her arms around the rider's torso gently enough that her fingers were all that touched until her arms had encircled him and then she lightly squeezed and smiled to him.
**Well, I could get used to this.** He smiled as he made sure everything was secure. "Ready ?" He called back. It was only a short flight to the beach from the Weyr. Z'al had Nyinth fly a long lazy circle around the Weyr before having him gently land on the beach. He wanted Kirra to enjoy her ride. He found the perfect spot and instructed the brown to land.
Nyinth landed perfectly. Z'al slid down quickly and then reached up for Kirra. He liked the feeling of her as she slid into his arms. Kirra smiled warmly and grasping his upper arm as he held her waist she felt his strong muscles easily help her down. Holding onto him, and letting him hold her a few seconds longer, she slowly gave him a soft kiss on his cheek, teasingly near his lips. "Thank you, Z'al. That was a lovely ride." "I'm glad you enjoyed it. Though, I do believe Nyinth was showing off for you." he smiled. The closeness of her kiss and having her in his arms, was enough to make him crazy. He was sure she was teasing him and he was sure he would enjoy every moment. "Shall I ready our picnic?" He smiled as he held her.
"Sure." she didn't want to let go of him, it felt good to be held in his arms, but she did. While Z'al got the basket unpacked Kirra found herself scratching Nyinth's eyeridges, seeing the contentment in the eyes of the big brown. Z'al smiled at her slight hesitation. He quickly set everything out and pulled a wine skin out. He pretended to examine it in great detail. It had cost him a bit. He had planned to share it with a young greenrider he had been hoping for a relationship with, but it had come to no avail. He smiled over to her as he poured two cups and handed her one. "I hope it is to your liking."
Kirra swirled the wine in the cup, smelled it, and sipped, making a great deal about knowing how to judge wine when she really didn't. She knew expensive wine when she tasted it though. It was a great vintage, **He must have paid a good amount of marks for this.** "It's very good, thank you." She took another sip relishing the taste, "I'm flattered that you find me worthy enough to drink it with you." Kirra smiled as she enjoyed the playful teasing. "Well, I had it on hand and it went unused for so long that I was dying to try it. I couldn't think of a better person to share it with then a pretty girl with a beautiful smile." He had grown fond of her smile of late. He had lain in his bed thinking of it and wanting to see it again.
Kirra walked to the picnic area and viewed the food, when really she was taking a moment to control her thoughts, she had heard the hint of seriousness in his voice. Feeling his eyes on her she turned around and let her tunic fall a bit off her right shoulder. She wanted this to work, ever since she had met him she had felt something that had never been there for her before. Walking up to the young rider and grinning pleasantly she put her hands on his chest, feeling the hard muscle underneath, she looked at him almost innocently, "I've been thinking about you a lot while you were still in the infermary." She hesitated, she felt like a little girl and blushed, "I, I want you to know that I've never been in a serious relationship," she put her hands down in her failed attempt to be sexy while telling him something embarrasing, "I've never felt this way before," She turned away embarassed even more with herself, "Ah shards I sound like a bumbling fool!" Z'al smiled his easy smile. She was sure pretty when she was embarrassed. He traced his hand along her chin gently and trailed it till it was behind her head. Before she could do anything he brought her in closer and claimed her mouth with his own. He was gentle with his kiss and let go only after a moment had passed. He pushed a stray hair from her face as he gazed at her once more. Kirra closed her eyes as he kissed her, her breath was gone once he had released his lips from hers. Her heart fluttered gentley as she sighed softly, contently while she felt his gentle touch moving her hair away.
**Why was I so scared, this feels _amazing_! And that was only one kiss!**
She opened her eyes to his loving gaze, and bringing her hand up to his face she felt his defined jaw, the skin dark from the sun, and with her other hand she slowly brought his lips to hers. Kissing him, barely touching his lips, she brought her arms loosely up around his neck, folding herself into his body.
Z'al was happy with her reaction. He carefully ran his hands up and down her back. She was so beautiful. He wanted to take it slow and show her how much he had come to care for her in such a short time. He carefully turned to gently lay her on the sand. He ran his hand down her side as he placed kisses down her chin and accross to her ear.
Kirra was completely relaxed as he seemed to effortlessly lay her down, caressing her, her body responding with shivers of pleasure that run up her spine, and smiled at such gentle care for her comfort and respect.
She in turn slipped her hand up the back of his shirt, carressing the muscles that rippled all along his back. Barely touching the nerves she knew were there, she traced shapes over them, enjoying just being able to touch him. Z'al smiled his encouragement. He gently moved his hand slowly up the front of her tunic. He carefully moved it farther and farther all the while watching her eyes to be sure she was okay with his bold move.
Kirra smiled encouragingly back, moving herself closer to him, wanting to be as close to him as she could.
Z'al smiled as he leaned down.....
********
Z'al was in a blissfuly relaxed state. He lay with a beautiful girl wrapped in his arms in the sun. He smiled at the memory of their lovemaking. He had been very gentle and had learned what things she reacted favorably to. He curled around her and breathed in her scent. Kirra smiled as she felt him move, feeling a shiver move down her spine. He had been amazing, so gentle. "Thank you, That was amazing."
