Description: Sh'del's little fire lizard, Trouble, Rises!
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 4, day 12 of Turn 6
When little Trouble took off, with many males in pursuit, Sh'del
wasn't too surprised. After all, it would explain his overwhelming
urge to slap each and every weyrling that had been occurring this
sevenday. He was just relieved that they were alone on the beach. At
least she would be caught by a wild male and not someone he knew!
Loranth grumbled in amusement and thought to himself, }:that's what you think.:{
** What's wrong with Ember?** N'mor wondered, when his reddish-brown
firelizard just seemed to be so distracted, perching on a rock and
watching the sky.
}; He's got lady in his mind, :{ Ked's mental tone sounded amused.
N'mor just grunted and turned around so he wouldn't burn his back on
the sun. Then Ember just shout out like a bolt.
"Flit flight" N'mor sighed. At least the emotions weren't as strong as
in dragon Flight.
At least they weren't for him. For Sh'del, on the other hand...
**What the...?** He could feel sweat beading off his forehead and the
flit's urge to be mated with felt...well...he put his head in his
hands and hoped she got caught soon. Very soon. This feeling was
just a bit embarressing.
Suddenly the feelings from Ember did get much stronger. "What's
happening?" N'mor wondered.
}: I believe the little brother is having a very good day, :{ Ked
replied. He actually sounded bit envious.
** You mean he is winning? That would be the first time!**, at least
N'mor couldn't remember Ember ever winnig a mating flight before. He
had to pull a towel across his hips to cover the physical reaction.
When Trouble was caught by Ember Sh'del jumped up and began walking.
Fast. Maybe if he could get away from her it wouldn't be so bad. It
was just his bad luck that he was only a cove away from N'mor.
N'mor saw Sh'del coming. He wondered if he should greet the
Weyrlimaster's second or just pretend he didn't saw him.
}:There's the winner,:{ Loranth helpfully told his lifemate.
Great, just great. Now what?
"Hullo, Sh'del," N'mor greeted, politeness winning over.
Sh'del resisted the urge to throw the smaller man under him and sat
down instead. "Sorry about this," he said gruffly.
"About what?" N'mor was bit distracted and had to check that the towel
was covering his critical regions.
Sh'del just raised an eyebrow at him and nodded to the bits the boy
was trying to hide. He also buried his hands in the sand as Trouble
enjoyed what N'mor's brown was doing to her.
"Umh," N'mor couldn't find anything sensible to say. He just hoped the
other man would go away...or not. Blush creeped to his face. Did Ember
had to have such a long and joyous Flight?
"Nice day, isn't it?" Sh'del grabbed at anything that would change
the subject.
Loranth flew over to land beside Kedvencth. }:Amusing, isn't it?:{
}: Very :{ Ked agreed.
"Uh, kind of hot though," N'mor replied to Sh'del.
"You could always take your shirt off." As soon as he said it, Sh'del
wanted to thump himself over the head. "Sorry, it's the Flight
talking."
"Yours? You mean my Ember is having a time of his life with your
green?" N'mor sounded incredulous. Then he just blushed even more.
"So it would seem." He looked up in the sky for the winged lovers but
they were too far off to see. He could 'feel' Loranth trying hard not
to laugh.
Ked had stopped trying and was laughing. N'mor tried to toss a
handfull of sand to his direction but the bronze was too far and the
sand just fell short.
Sh'del nudged him. "Let's leave these two clowns to it and go find
some women, eh?"
"That's a brilliant idea!" N'mor said with euthiasm.
"What are we waiting for then?" Sh'del stood up and brushed the sand
off his trousers.
"Nothing." It didn't take long for N'mor to collect his things and
join the older rider.
Loranth watched them leave before turning back to the young bronze.
}:Human, they're such simple creatures.:{
}: Are they? I often find them hard to understand. Seems to me like
they tend to make things too complicated :{ Kedvencth answered.
}:Exactly. They don't appreciate the small things in life, like
sunning.:{ At that the almost black brown stretched out and did just
that.
