Cyradis

**Carefully! _Very_ carefully...** R'mer warned Hanunth as he began to
backwing down to the new Weyrwoman Second's ledge. He had to wonder if
the goldrider might have been transfered out of her home Weyr for a
drinking problem, considering how many bottles of alcohol that his
bronze had strapped to his body. That was all Dolphin Cove needed after
their previous Weyrwoman's departure!

Panitath's golden head rose to survey the new arrival. She was always
interested in bronzes she hadn't met yet. This young one was handsome
and she arched her neck in welcome. Her own harness had been emptied
and removed. but the cargo itself had yet to be unpacked.

}:Hanunth's comes:{

"Hanunth's," she smiled at the flush of pleasure from her lifemate.
Panitath for all her pride could be quite playful when a new bronze
crossed her path. **Well, send him in dear.** She turned back to
unpacking the bag that lay on the couch before her.

R'mer pushed open the curtain with his foot as he hauled in the first of
the bottle filled crates. The bronzerider was surprisingly strong for
his size, having spent most of his youth working the land on his
family's farm. Still, it was not an easy burden to carry with liquid
sloshing around inside. "Ma'am," he said said with a nod of greeting
since it was hard to manage much else. "Where do I put this?"

She nodded with a small smile at the young bronzerider. "There at the
end of the couch is just fine. Anything break?" She didn't really
think it had or she'd be smelling the contents of the bottle. She'd
packed them all pretty carefully after all.

"None I can see, ma'am. There's more on Hanunth to be checked." He set
the crate down and stood back up to his full height. His back welcomed
the momentary relief.

"I'm Cyradis," she said holding out her hand with a smile. "Panitath
assures me you have a rather handsome fellow."

R'mer blushed as he awkwardly reached for her hand. He didn't quite
know what to say to such a compliment, especially from a goldrider newly
met. "Hanunth is his name. I'm R'mer."

"Well met R'mer," she smiled and grasped his had lightly before
letting it go. "I'm glad you're here to help. There were some other
boxes also down in the Weyrbowl if you wouldn't mind bringing them up
as well later." She went over to inspect the bottles in the crate and
pulled one out.

"Here, this one is for you. It's my hobby. I enjoy the process of
bottling liquors."

"Thank you." He took the bottle, turning it over in his hands. A
goldrider making her own booze? He thought only mountain people did
that. "What's in it?"

She gave him a crooked smile. "That's one of my fathers famous
liquors. He was a Master Vintner. It's made from Citrus and a few
other things." She waggled a hand at the ambiguity. But it's very
powerful so just a little bit goes a long way. He called it
Citroncello."

"Huh..." He snorted, turning the bottle over in his hands. "My uncle
made Quikal himself once, but never nothing with citrus in it."

She smiled at his reaction. It wasn't as if she'd never heard that in
the past. They always managed to change their tune after their first
taste. "It's tasty but it will sneak up on you if you aren't careful."

"How many more boxes left down there?"

"Two, ma'am. I'm also supposed to ask you if there's any furniture
you'll need from storage." It was strange being on elevator duty again.
Almost like he was a weyrling again! He didn't mind, though. It was
better than sitting a watch.

"Yes," she said. "I talked to the headwoman and I believe I will need
another small table and a chest. She probably has them set aside for
me by now." She bent over one of the boxes and began pulling some of
her bed furs to make it up. No sense in waiting on that chore. "Oh,
and I think there is also a tapestry."

"Do you need help there?" he asked, pointing to the pile of furs she had
in her hand. She had a rather large bed, he was sure, and the mattress
might be heavy if she tried to tuck anything under it.

"Uh, sure!" She grabbed a sheet, took it into her sleeping area, and
tossed it to flip the edges to the other side of the wide bed. Then
she began smooth it out and tuck in the edges.

"You can tell a goldrider by the size of her bed," R'mer said as he
pulled the sheet down on his side. Then he realized how that might
sound, and his cheeks colored slightly. "No offence, ma'am."

Cyradis chuckled to herself. **Riders never change,** "And where did
you hear that one bronzrider?" She couldn't help but needle him just a
little.

"I didn't hear it, ma'am." And her _certainly_ didn't want to tell her
he had personal, intimate knowledge of the size of the Weyrwoman's bed!
Just the thought of her knowing brought more color to his cheeks. "I
just meant goldrider's beds are bigger than greenrider's."

"Ah," she nodded knowingly. "You have experience then." She said it as
a statement rather than a question. The flush on his cheeks made her
think of her older son. Cyradis had a rather impish sense of humor at
times.

"I wouldn't know about that," he muttered, tucking the blankets in so he
wouldn't have to meet her eye.

"Mmmhmm," she smiled as she continued to make the bed. She wasn't
planning on pressing him any further. He was very young but he was a
bronzerider and bronzes chose wisely for the most part. She finished
tucking in her side and straightened back up.

"How about you go get those last few boxes and then you're free to go
get your lunch."

"Yes, ma'am," R'mer said, giving her a smart salute. He thought it a
very good idea to leave before she started saying more things to make
him blush!

He was a cute kid but still so young. It was hard to remember herself
at that age. She hid her smile and turned back to her unpacking.
