One hand sank into her red hair, gently pulling her head back so he could trail light, teasing kisses down her throat. Shifting, he shoved more of the bedfurs off of her with his other hand before tailing a caress up her side, ignoring her sleepy protests. "What? You need warming up... You're skin is cold, and obviously those furs weren't helping much - oh, scortching _shards_!" Ar'lis yelled, starting as her icy cold feet slid up his legs.

"Well, if you want to warm me up, you should probably start with the parts that are cold," she mumbled with a sleepy, though thoroughly mischievous grin.

"If you - Gaiya! - if you put them up any higher we're going to have a serious problem," he growled, though his tone was hardly menacing as he stared down at her, capturing her hands with his.

"My hands aren't going to stop them, Ar'lis," she laughed as her toes inched up a little higher along his inner thigh.

He clamped his thighs tight around her cold, _cold_ feet, gritting his teeth against the sting of it. "If you're not careful, I might just have to punish you, love..."

"Why? What am I doing? You're the one who pointed out I was cold?" She looked up with him with large, almost innocent eyes.

He raised her arms above her head. "Oh, I think you know exactly what you're doing," he crooned, his thumbs stroking her wrists. Then he shifted, catching both her hands in one of his as he caressed a part of her that he knew was quite sensitive. "Don't you?"

Gaiya had lost and she was loving it. There was no response other than to look at him with the languid smile she knew that drove him crazy.

And it did drive him crazy. Growling, and forgetting about her cold feet, he moved until he was straddling her. Then he bent his head to kiss her, his hand continuing to stroke her sensitive spots. Ar'lis released her hands so she could reciprocate as his lips moved down to kiss at her neck.

Her fingers slipped into his hair as she whispered his name. This was the way she enjoyed waking up in the morning.

Just when he was about to lower his lips back to hers again, he froze, sensing the sudden, lustful emotions of his bronze. His eyes closed, and he caught a vision of a screaming green dragon sweeping through the rain.

}:I want her. I will have her!:{ The bronze snarled as he leapt from his couch, making for the ledge.

Gaiya looked up into his glazed eyes. "You have to go, don't you." She had seen that look before.

"Yeah." The bronzerider rolled off her, snarling as he fought with the furs that were tangled around him. "Yeah..." Blindly he searched for his trousers, half-aware of finding them and pulling them on.

She groaned as she rolled over and picked his shirt off the floor and handed it to him. He wasn't the first man to leave her for a Flight. It was one of the few drawbacks of Weyr life. But did he have to wake her up from such a cozy sleep and then leave her? Shards, she probably couldn't even fall back asleep. Oh well, perhaps it was time to start a new day anyway.
