"You ready?" Pierka called when she saw him coming. It was just a
short hop to Dolphin Hall and they could have easily walked it but
Liddith wanted to carry her there so she'd put on her white bathing
shorts and a pink string top that left little to the imagination. A
towel thrown strategically over her shoulder hid the majority of the
scar on her back.

"Yes." Z'ku couldn't help admiring her outfit. What little there was
of it. He wore a thin shirt and his swim shorts with a carrisack slung
over his shoulder.

She climbed up onto Liddith and grinned down at him. "Let's go to the
cove just west of the hall. That's where they rest and play when they
aren't working."

Xemroth arrived to carry his rider. He certainly wasn't going to miss
out when dolphins and a pretty young green were involved. The pair
followed Liddith down the shoreline. It was nice to get out of the
Weyr and Z'ku felt a little lighter by the time they reached the cove.

"This is going to be fun," Pierka grinned as she slid down from
Liddith's back. After stripping off her harness and hanging on a tree
limb, she spread her towel on the beach. Right now she was so excited
about swimming with the dolphins again. "Come on," she grinned at Z'ku
before running into the water.

The thin shirt was left behind with his towel as Z'ku ran after her, a
wide smile spreading across his face. He splashed his way through the
waves, catching up to her. "Is that them?" He pointed out where he
thought he saw a flash of fins.

"Yes it is," she threw him a grin and then dove into the next wave.

He watched her for a moment. Water was her element and Pierka moved
through it almost as if she were a dolphin herself. Z'ku swam after
her, wondering if the dolphins had noticed them yet.

As she cut through the clear blue waters of the cove she clicked like
she'd been taught as an apprentice to let any of the nearby pod know
she was there and wanting to play. Soon she saw them heading in her
directly.

"Cece!" She greeted the dolphin who reached her first.

"Kika!" the dolphin greeted with a squeal and jumped over her in a
glittering arc.

The other dolphins arrived with excited noises, splashing around the
pair. }:Dolphins!:{ Xemroth let out a happy bugle as he waded into the
water.

**Be careful around them.**

}:I know how to be gentle.:{ The bronze's eyes whirled with blue as he
watched the dolphins' antics.

"I told you he'd love this." Z'ku laughed.

Treading water, she grinned back at him as she stroked Cece who'd come
back to her chattering excitedly "Baaabeeee."

"They love the big dragons," she said and laughed as Liddith started
playing with the big bronze as well as the dolphins.

One of the dolphins came close and nudged Z'ku. "Plaay? You plaaay?"

"Yes. Do you want to pull me?" Some of the dolphins liked that game.
Living close to the ocean and the Dolphin Hall, he'd had chances to
play with dolphins before.

"Yesss." The dolphin offered his dorsal fin.

Cece offered hers as well and Pierka wrapped her fingers around the
leading edge. They took off through the water, slowly at first and
then picking up speed. Others of the pod leapt out of the water
squealing, diving, spinning and tail walking as only dolphins could.
All of Pierka's sadness of the moment dissipated in the sheer joy of
the ride.

They played with the dolphins until Z'ku's stomach started rumbling.
"Should we go in for lunch?"

"Good idea," she called and let Cece take her back to the beach and
their picnic. She dragged herself out of the water and collapsed on
her towel. "Boy is my swimming out of shape," she sighed. "Was fun
though."

"If that's you out of shape, you'll really put me to shame when you're
in top form." Z'ku lifted the basket from where it had been tucked in
a shady spot.

"Aww come on," she grinned. "You're no slouch." She reached into the
basket for a meat roll and began to munch. "So beautiful out here,"
she sighed.

"Yes," he agreed, taking a meat roll for himself. "We picked a perfect day."

"We sure did," she said. She smiled as Liddith came up out of the
water to sun on the rocks nearby. "We'll sleep well tonight," she said
remembering her days as an apprentice and the dreamless restful sleep
that had followed.

Z'ku ate quietly for a while before he asked, "How's the baby?"

"So far so good," she smiled and placed her hand on her lower abdomen.
"I can feel it now, right here."

Z'ku's hand moved almost on its own and he made himself pause. "Can I feel it?"

"Sure," she smiled and lay back. "Right here," she said as she guided
his hand just above the bone to the little hard mound that didn't yet
show in the most revealing clothing.

"Oh. I can feel it." Z'ku smiled. "It's hard to imagine something so
small will be a baby soon."

"I know! Right?" She grinned back at him. "Would you like to go with
me to the healers tomorrow?"

"I would be honored." He'd been serious when he made the offer to her before.
