Description: Petrith's first flight and she's caught by best friends
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 6, day 14 of Turn 7
The past few weeks had been the best of D'ret's life. The difference
between being a rider and a candidate were worlds apart and he was
enjoying every single second. Even the work was bearable ... barely.
Dropping his flight gear at the back of Petrith's ledge, the small lad
dropped on the stool he kept for working leather and glanced at his
adorable green. It had been hard getting through her fears, and it
wasn't completely gone, but most of them had been dealt with. He
wasn't looking forward to the first Fall they'd be passing bags of
firestone to riders.
D'ret shifted suddenly and gasped as a wave of arousal washed over
him. It was different than when he was with another ... this was
completely Petrith. Before he could stand, she was off her couch and
soaring into the air with a cry of confidence he'd never heard before.
The small, lightly colored green was glowing with a pearlish light and
D'ret realized why she gorged that very morning. "Sneaky girl ... fly
well," he mumbled as he raced to the flight room. His first flight
... the anticipation was nearly killing him.
}:Petrith! I will catch you!:{ Rademerth streaked after her, eager to
try what he'd learned from the other dragons.
Petrith? J'kri's stomach flip-flopped. Hope and fear battled inside
him. It was only Rademerth's second time chasing, and such a sort time
later. It was possible but unlikely that he would win. But if he
did... would D'ret talk to him if they woke up in a flight room
together? Would he finally get some answers?
Being small, Petrith had no hope of having a long flight but she was
thrilled with the feeling of power and took full advantage of it.
Zipping one direction then another, she took little notice of who was
chasing. She did, however, hear her favorite blue and crooned to him
as she passed.
D'ret was already stripping as he walked into the room, noting a
couple of brownriders, a bronzerider and a few blueriders ...
including J'kri. He faltered a bit at the thought of his best friend
winning and an odd thrill went through him before he lost himself in
Petrith. The young greenrider was quite experienced with the later
stages of flights, often being the winner of a losing rider so this
was a new experience. D'ret was never shy and with flightlust ruling
his every move, there wasn't a man there that didn't get some of his
attention.
Large as he was, Rademerth was still fast and agile, almost keeping up
with the young green. He remembered the lessons about complimenting
greens. }:You are beautiful, Petrith. I will fly you well.:{
J'kri merged with his blue, his longing turning into an eager focus.
He was strong and quick and smart, and Petrith was just as worthy as
Camilth. J'kri reached out for D'ret each time he came near as
Rademerth kept up with the green's acrobatics.
Petrith was impressed and gave one final lurch up and to the right to
see if he'd be able to keep up. The others were forgotten as she
flicked her tail and taunted }: Will you now ... Perhaps :{
Even lost in his green, D'ret was completely aware of J'kri and his
touches lingered where they didn't on others. The riders circling
around them noticed on a vague level and started to drift back as the
larger dragons fell away.
Tucking her wings, she dropped directly in the flight path of
Rademerth with the intent to spring away ... but she was tiring and
knew she was his for the taking.
Rademerth clutched her in his talons, neck and tail twining with hers.
His wings spread wide to slow their fall and his triumphant bellow
rang out as he claimed Petrith.
J'kri pulled D'ret into a rough, hungry kiss. His hands only left him
long enough to frantically strip off his clothes. All he knew was
need, lust driving out everything else.
Dragon and rider succumbed to their best friends, the feelings so
intense, D'ret nearly blacked out. Somehow making it to the bed, he
gave in to J'kri completely as the dragon pair above slowly fell.

It took a while for J'kri to come back to himself. For a moment he was
disoriented, but as soon as he saw D'ret's face it all came to him in
a rush. Rademerth had won! It certainly was a different experience,
and for it to be with someone he cared for so much... The ache of the
last several months came back and J'kri put a gentle hand on the
greenrider's face. "D'ret," he said softly. "Please stay." J'kri
needed to know why he'd been so aloof all these months, why his friend
had all but disappeared from his life.
The soft brush of fingers on his face made D'ret sigh and he slowly
fluttered his blue eyes open. Seeing J'kri brought a smile as he
snuggled closer ... then the words reached his hazy mind. "Stay? Why
wouldn't I?" he asked sleepily, his arm slipping around the slim waist
and pulling him closer. He didn't yet understand there was a problem
with the distance between them. "I'm so glad he caught her."
"Me, too." It was so good to hold him again. J'kri kissed him, a
gentle brush of lips that quickly became something more. D'ret had
been the first one to kiss him, the first to show him so many things.
J'kri brushed a hand along his side, stopping to grip the greenrider's
hip. "D'ret, I missed you so much." His voice was thick even as his
body heated with leftover dragonlust.
Memories flooded through the haze and J'kri's tone sent alarm bells
ringing in his head. Missed him? He'd been right here ... well, not
exactly. "Oh shells ... I'm so sorry," he whispered and pulled back
enough to look J'kri in the eyes, fingers threaded in the boys soft
hair. "It's been so hard. Petrith took so much of my attention. Her
fear."
D'ret gently stroked J'kri's bottom lip with his thumb. "And I wanted
to give you space, to find yourself in your new life. Being a
bluerider opens up so many possibilities ..."
"There was room for you. There's always room for you in my life." The
way he touched him was so distracting, but he needed to know. "I was
worried I did something, said something to drive you away."
Groaning, D'ret slowly shook his head. "Not a chance. There is never
anything you could say to drive me away. Do ... now that's another
story," he said with a wicked little grin.
"I only want to do good things to you. And the very best kind of bad
things." J'kri smiled, the ache around his heart easing. "I want to
make sure you never forget your first flight." He nudged D'ret onto
his back and slid on top of him. The bluerider kissed his lips, then
along his jaw to his ear. "I've dreamed about you for _months_."
Feeling the length of him, D'ret slid his hands up J'kri's back. He
arched up as his ear was teased and his breathing came a bit faster.
"I never stopped thinking of you either. Just wanted ... you were
supposed to ... have fun with others ... Oh shells ..."
"I did, but I wanted you. And now I can finally have you." It would be
fun to go slow, to tease D'ret until he begged, but the dragonlust and
all the time they spent apart were too much. J'kri shifted and claimed
D'ret. It wasn't the blur of overwhelming emotions that the flight had
been, every moment was clear and sharp and wonderful.
"Anytime!" he gasped, fingers dug deep in J'kri's behind. Self
recriminations were pushed aside for another day. This is what he'd
been missing and he wasn't about to lose it again.
