Cyradis

Jeyme left straight from the infirmary and took the ground path up to
the weyr that Cyradis and K'deren shared. Apparently no one else had
recognized Green Valley's young holder, but she had known it was him
as soon as she laid eyes on his still form. Unable to go to Green
Valley herself and tell Arippa the good news, she would have to trust
others to do that instead. Cyradis was the logial choice since the
Weyrwoman would need to know that a Minor Holder was lying in the
Weyr's infirmary, a Minor Holder who had been reportedly kidnapped.
She knocked on the Weyrwoman's office door, while Quinneth politely
paid respects to Panitath.

Cyradis swung her legs off the couch where she'd been resting like the
healers had called out "Come in," she had picked up a certain amount
of urgency when she heard from Panitath it was Jeyme at the door. Of
course her first assumption ran to problems with D'hol but she wasn't
quite certain why the greenrider would come to her for that.

Jeyme pushed the door open, ducking her head respectfully to Cyradis
as she entered "Weyrwoman, I am sorry to interupt. Have you heard that
a man was brought in yesterday to the infirmary after Threafdall?"

"I had heard that someone had been brought in yes, But I haven't had
the chance to visit yet. Is he conscious?" Cyradis thought she should
go take a look if the man was awake.

"He is not conscious yet, but I know who he is," Jeyme told her, "it
is Reven of Green Valley Minor Hold. He has been missing for sevendays
now."

"You mean the missing Holder? We must let the family know at once. "
she started to stand but then realized she had to calm down. "Do they
have a watch rider, I wonder, " she asked rhetorically.

Jeyme shook her head, "Green Valley does not, but I think Emerald
Falls does." That would be rather close, only a day or so journey from
Green Valley, or they could see someone directly.

Of course neither of them could go but... "Who found him?" She reached
out mentally to Panitath to hail a young bronze to send his rider to
her Weyr.

"S'avn found him on some post-Fall sweeps." Jeyme told her as she took a
seat.

}:Panitath's rider would like you to go to her Weyr, :{ bronze Naath told
his rider.

**Oh?** I'lan replied, even as he began to smarten himself up quickly.

}:I think she has a task for us to do,:{ the bronze suggested. }:It might be
urgent.:{

**Well tell them I'll be there shortly.**

And it wasn't much time before the young man had himself clean and
presentable, and knocking on the door, waiting to be told to come in.

"Come in," Cyradis called out without rising from her seat.

"Ma'am," I'lan politely nodded to the Weyrwoman, and the greenrider with
her. He wasn't sure of her name, but he recognised her as Wingleader D'hol's
weyrmate. So this logically must be something important. "You wanted to see
me?"

Jeyme nodded to the other rider. She didn't know I'lan but had seen
him around the Weyr. She could not wait until Arippa heard the good
news. It would be such a relief to Green Valley as well.

"Yes I'lan, thank you for coming so quickly," she nodded. "Jeyme has
just told me that a man has been picked up by a sweeprider and is now
in our infirmary. But more importantly, he is a Holder she recognizes.
He is Reven of Green Valley. I'd like you to go there and tell them
he's been found and bring whichever of his relatives want to come back
with you."

"Of course, Ma'am. that won't be a problem. Is there any specific person I
should ask for?"

"I'm sure the Holder's wife and any other immediate family should be
your first concern," she said. "I'll pass the news to Lord Corowal's
watch dragons."

Jeyme could not wait for I'lan to be gone, because the sooner the
bronzerider left for Green Valley, the sooner Arippa and her husband
would be reunited. She couldn't fathom what stroke of luck had brought
Reven out into a shelter of rocks during a Threadfall that Dolphin
Cove riders had been fighting, but she was glad it had happened.
