Characters: E'rae, L'pin
Description: L'pin asked E'rae to carry a message for him.
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 6, day 16 of Turn 7
He kicked up a bit of sand as he pulled on Leith's straps. He was going to have to replace that buckle soon. **Everything else looks allright though.**
He was running errand duty for extra marks and it helped keep his mind occupied with less free time.
"Excuse me, ah, E'rae is it?" L'pin approached the other man, some hides in his hands.
Turning around, the bluerider focused on the voice. Seeing an older rider, he saw the knots. **Weyrlingstaff** Wondering just what the man might want with him, he stopped moving and turned
around to face him. "Aye."
"Would you have time to run a message to Emerald Falls?"
"Yes." That was the easiest answer. The bluerider didn't mind going back and forth to the Holds. It was meaningless work and easy enough. It was time out of his empty weyr.
"To the Harper Hall," L'pin said as he passed over a message. He could have gone himself, but right now - too painful.
E'rae missed the look and the meaning behind it but he wondered-if this was all there was, why not send a firelizard or a runner? "To whom?"
"Tepina. She lives in the crafter's area. I realized I'd nearly left it too late for it to arrive for her birthingday." He felt rather guilty about that.
"Ahh..." He put two and two together and surmised they were probably related. "A sister? My sister is still at River Bluff." He put the message in his jacket pocket.
"Mother. Doubly bad if I forgot, huh?" he admitted. "What do you think about the climate of here compared to there?"
"Hmmm my mother is at Garnet Valley." He wrote to her from time to time, but that was about all. He didn't go there much due to his father. "It's not much different really though it can get hotter there sometimes since River Bluff is closer to the midline." That was for certain. Of course the Weyr there was a lot older than Dolphin Cove so things were made to cool everyone down within the stone.
"Didn't know anywhere got warmer than here." He shook his head. "You visit your sister much?"
"No. Now that my daughter is here, I don't go back. I left...for a reason. I do miss the electric and the bathing pools though." He sighed, thinking that was a bummer about Dolphin Cove for sure. "I do miss some of my friends, but I can see them at Gathers and things if I want."
"I hear an improvement project's in the works. maybe some of those luxuries will come here soon. I know I wouldn't mind."
"Oh? Well it'll take turns for something like that I'm sure." In a Pass, such a thing was not necessarily a priority. Especially when glows were readily available. Nodding to himself, he readied to head out to the harper hall. "Maybe I'll talk to you again sometime." He fished for the man's name with a glance.
"It will, but it'll be nice to see one day." Then he realized what he'd forgotten to say. "Oh! And I'm L'pin of blue Chaneth. It was good to meet you."
"You too. Well met L'pin." And with that, he mounted his dragon and waited till the man moved back before giving Leith the signal to take off.
