Description: E'rae tries his best to avoid his wingmate.
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 6, day 24 of Turn 7
Notes: Mentioned: Cyradis
With his recent hatred toward bronzeriders, wingleaders in particular,
E'rae made it a point to avoid them at all costs if he could. The bluerider
didn't care if they were young or had a few turns. So when Z'ku came down
the tunnel, he purposefully ducked into a doorway that was open and
walked inside. Unfortunately, it seemed to be the men's lavatory.
**Shardit**
Z'ku walked in and paused at the odd expression on the man's face.
"E'rae, right?" The new transfer, a quiet type. "Welcome to the Wing."
"Ahhh thanks. So far so good." Deciding it was probably the best escape
he could muster, he headed up to use the facilities. **I've got to have some
in there. Come on...**
Z'ku finished and washed up. He hesitated, wondering if he should say
something more. Was E'rae naturally quiet, or simply awkward?
"You fly well, you and your dragon." Bronzerider or not, he gave credit
where
it was due.
"Thank you. So do you. Are you settling in?"
"It's different getting used to everything. Like no electric." That
one was a serious change for sure.
"Ah, yes. The Weyrwoman is working on it, though. It might take Turns,
but we might all have electricity in our weyrs eventually." Z'ku would
certainly love to have fans. Dolphin Cove had some terribly hot, humid
days.
"Something like that takes a long while and while everyone is focused on
Threadfighting in a Pass, it takes longer." You couldn't devote staff and
riders
to it like you could have in the Interval. E'rae remembered those days.
"Oh, yes. But it's a good project. A boost to morale, even if we know
it's a long way off."
"Mmm I suppose." He was still trying to end this conversation. Finishing his
business, he went to wash his hands as well. Taking his time, he got quiet
and
then turned to go.
"If you need someone to talk to, or just sit next to in the dining
cavern, I'm here," Z'ku offered. "Or if you'd rather be alone, that's
fine, too."
Wondering if he was that transparent or even that everyone had heard about
him
being grounded by now, he just nodded. "Well met, Z'ku." That was all he
could
muster up just then. Heading off down the corridor as fast as his legs
would take him, he sighed.
