Physical Description of Persona:
Aikley is 5’5”, with narrow shoulders and a slight frame. They have light brown skin, with just a hint of darker freckling along the cheeks, and brown eyes that always seem to have a bit of puffy sleepiness about them. Their dark brown hair is thick, but short; it’s obvious they prefer a more androgynous look, and their clothing choices reflect that, too: no one can really remember them wearing any dresses or jewelry or clothing with a more feminine cut. They also prefer plainness in general -- earthtones with maybe a dash of dull blue, and even their gatherwear tends to be nicer but rather subdued.

Emotional Description of Persona:
Quiet and bookish, serious and studious; Aikley was always a little out-of-step with their very physical farming family. They’ve always been voracious for knowledge and quick to acquire it once they have a way to learn it -- books, teachers, /anything/ will do. Being quiet doesn’t necessarily mean shy, or even introverted, though. It’s true that Aikley values their alone time, and has a very rich inner world where they’re happy to just be inside their own mind, but they’re not afraid to speak up -- in fact, they often do, because they’re a little bit of a stealth control freak. They prefer schedules and structure, and are very detail-oriented in their work, which is part of what makes them so well-suited as an editor, but it also means that erratic or irresponsible behavior on the part of others stands out to them, and it makes them really uncomfortable. They can’t stand to see a job left undone, but they’ve slowly learned to balance the instinct that demands they jump in and do it all themselves with the wisdom of knowing that some things just need to be delegated… well, mostly. Delegating can become a whole overwhelming task in and of itself; management is hard, and it’s easy to get so caught up in making sure that everyone else is doing their jobs that they forget to take care of themselves in the process. They’re both a manager and a caretaker at heart, and it probably wouldn’t surprise anyone at the Printer Hall to learn that Aikley’s father often jokes, lovingly, that they were born a full-grown, serious adult.

History of Persona:
Aikley was born on a small farm, the only girl and middle child of three born to their parents. From the beginning, Aikley didn’t really fit in -- neither of their parents had much education, just the basics from journeying harpers, but Aikley was /smart/, and craved more than what the harpers could give. When the journeymen left books and newspapers behind, they devoured them quickly and then read them over and over again until they could get more. Stories were nice, but better still was news of the rest of the world -- they were perpetually excited to realize how large the world actually was even beyond trips to the main Hold, and that those people (unlike the people in books) were /real/ and living their lives the same as they were back on the farm, just… different. They picked up writing and began writing a journal, later branching out into childish fiction and, eventually, editorials that were never destined to be sent anywhere or published because the opinions contained within were educated entirely by snippets of news from places that Aikley had never actually been.

Their family may not have entirely understood their bookish child, but they lovingly supported them nonetheless. Their father found out what he needed to do to get them apprenticed with the Printers, where they could get the education they so desperately craved and hone the talents that would only be wasted back on the farm. As expected, they excelled there amongst the harpers and printers in an environment that fostered those talents, even with the shifting locations, and they eventually earned their journeyman’s knots.

They specialize in editing, but spend a great deal of their time working as Master Aleriand’s personal assistant of sorts. He clearly needed someone to keep his priorities straight, and Aikley just quietly became That Person.
