Persona Profile: N'noi (Inactive)

Writer: MyaLR

Name: N'noi
Pronunciation: Ni-noi
Age: 21
Birthday: m10 d21
Rank: Wingrider, Alpine Wing
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr

Physical Description of Persona:
The word that best describes N'noi's appearance is compact. He is an unimpressive 5-foot-5, with muscles that'd be hidden from view entirely if not for the subtle lines they leave in otherwise peach-toned skin. Yet the foundation lying under the surface of said physique is as firm as a rock. His jaw and cheekbones are practically vertically aligned on his face, resulting in a rather non-angular, square canvas for all the facial features. These features include uvarovite green eyes that only seem to shift between the same two emotions, a thin nose, and a likewise thin upper lip. The hair is an unmistakable casualty of his easily bored-by mundane tasks attention span, as unless someone forces him to brush it, he'll get sidetracked, leaving it with only one area nice and neat at a time throughout the day. Other than that, it is kept in simple layers, 2 to 4 inches in length, with the shorter ones on the bottom.

Emotional Description of Persona:
N'noi is outgoing, curious, and seemingly undeterred by the fact that some people aren't as social-oriented as he is. These amicable traits don't waver at all, not even when he's frustrated or embarrassed about having others point out his flaws. He avoids openly acknowledging any less-than-ideal habit if they get mentioned, viewing them more as self-indulgence. While conversations, wing drills, etc., are keeping him occupied, neither his single-mindedness nor boredom will become an issue. It is the mind-numbing, monotonous moments where he just stops in his tracks, lost in thought out of boredom to the point where he's oblivious to everything else. Despite all this, N'noi doesn't escape the Greenrider stereotype of having some level of flirtatiousness, but he slips it in so seamlessly sometimes that it can be hard to recognize.

History of Persona:
J'narn and Liolli, despite knowing they were ill-suited to child rearing, felt they should contribute something to Dragonsfall Weyr's future generation. Their contribution would be their only child, Narnoi, who'd barely know his parents while growing up. His father's attention couldn't focus on his son for longer than an hour; his mother's single-mindedness delayed her from giving her son attention. The boy, therefore, was under the care of an almost middle-aged Fostermother.

Because his parents weren't around enough to fulfill his curiosity about them, he turned his desire to know anyone better onto others, particularly those his age. He approached both Varethos and Kaibren at separate times to hang out, and though he didn't ask about their parents, he was watching to see how often their parents compared to his own. He spent so much time with them, trying to skip math lessons with at least one of them or trying to play longer, that he got used to being around them. Eventually, he was introduced to Varethos' younger brother, Merhaskel, giving Narnoi another face he kept an eye out for as a potential playmate.

As the oldest among them, he was the first to join Candidacy. He'd learned some about Dragonriding from his Fostermother but his only first-hand accounts of it came through Varethos and Merhaskel's parents. This still did little to make him feel prepared once he was on the scorching sands for the first time, watching one hatchling after another find their person. He was left Standing time after time for several Turns until a small green suddenly toddled away from her brown sibling and stopped right in front of Narnoi.

Their Weyrlinghood felt like it went by quickly, but there was one learning experience while they were learning how to fly that stuck with them, particularly with Asrilith (Az-ri-lith). She had seen how far her bigger green sisters made it and, unaware of her own limits at this age, aimed to go as far as they had. She ended up straining a wing muscle before landing heavily, luckily on her feet. After that, she was very careful about how far she went or how much she tried to do at once.

They were soon graduating and suddenly becoming a full-fledged rider made N'noi hyper-aware he should start keeping an eye out for signs of Asrilith being proddy. He was so intent on watching Asrilith that he didn't notice his own behavior changing, that he'd begun to favor being around the riders of male dragons more. Then, about a month after his 18th birthday, the green rose for her first flight. It was a short green flight, straight through the air, angled upward, before diving back through the males to see who'd reach her first. N'noi knew K'mai and Sebeth vaguely since they were wingmates, so when it was that pair who caught the Greenpair, he took the opportunity afterward to chat a bit more.

Dragon's Name: Asrilith
Dragon's Age: 5
Dragon's Hatching Date: m5 d4
Dragon's Colour: Green
Description of Dragon:
Asrilith understands her limitations. She is small and stout, a big-boned type that will be graceless and awkward if she tries to do much more than fly straight. Her grassy coloration lightens as it progresses down her body, but even the lightest of shadows will make everything pretty much the same color. She might as well just be a rock considering how little difference there is between colors. Asrilith even acts like a rock, sedentary as if conserving her stamina for when it is necessary. A talkative, friendly rock that is.
