Persona Profile: Yvase

Writer: Avery

Name: Yvase
Pronunciation: EE-vase
Age: 13
Birthday: m10 d7
Rank: Junior Weyrling
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr

Physical Description of Persona:
Yvase is short, slender, and androgynous in build and voice in the way of a weyrbrat who hasn’t started puberty. She has black, curly hair, which refuses to stay bound up and out of her face no matter whether she’s using a runner’s tail, pins, or a band to pull it back. Her skin is peach in shade, and her eyes are light brown.

Emotional Description of Persona:
A teacher once said of Yvase that it was “hard to believe so much personality fits in so small of a frame”. She’s a young girl who is subject to the mercurial mood shifts and excessive emotions of adolescence. She’s more outgoing than quiet, more inclined to leap into action than hang back and watch, more inclined to talk than listen. She’s the person who has a big explosion of feelings in a storm right now and then is in a sunny mood next day; biting her tongue and simmering or holding on to grudges isn’t her way.

History of Persona:
Yvase was born to bronzerider L’val and a weaver named Selaine at Rising Moons Weyr, a flight-mothing happy accident who was raised in the creche and was still doted on by both parents. It was always apparent Yvase was an outgoing, adventurous girl with a big personality, likely to be a ringleader of weyrbrats and at the center of incidents. She never did poorly enough in her classes to need extra help, but she was never an academically inclined child either, preferring to socialize with other weyrbrats and engage in physical pursuits. When her father chose to transfer to Dragonsfall Weyr, he asked Yvase and Selaine if they wanted to go, and they accepted. Yvase wanted to stay with her father, and Selaine was excited by the opportunity to learn different weaving patterns from a new climate and study under a new set of masters. She has been Standing as a Candidate since she was old enough to, and has been working in the lower caverns between clutches, despite both of her parents begging her to try out different Crafts in hopes of something to temper her restless energy until a dragon chooses her.

Dragon's Name: Teriath
Dragon's Age: 0
Dragon's Hatching Date: m12 d14
Dragon's Colour: Green
Description of Dragon:
As a weyrling, Teriath hatches tiny and chubby, bulky in the tail and round in the chest, and will remain this way until she’s capable of flight. She is constantly in motion, frequently fidgeting at least one part of her body if she’s in some kind of lesson or drill forcing her to be still. Once she can fly and hunt her own food, she will begin to lose the roundness. As an adult, she will be average in size, have a deeper than standard chest for a green and long but narrow wings, showcasing a quickness and agility outstanding even for her color but prone to exhaust herself more quickly than normal until she and her rider learn her limits. Her color is the cool deep green of moss growing in the shade of caves or forests.

Teriath is dynamic. She hates to be bored and is constantly in search of something to do, usually involving spending time with other dragons or physical activity. She is positive and upbeat, playful and enthusiastic, with a sweet temperament and joy in life that lacks any malice or guile. Keeping her on track will be a challenge for her rider and for dragons in a position of authority over her. Properly corralled in the right direction, Teriath can be a positive inspiration to those around her: remember the simple joys of the stones under your claws, the wind under your wings.
