Persona Profile: H'kami

Writer: Steel

Name: H'kami
Pronunciation: Huh-cam-ee
Age: 20
Birthday: m2 d4
Birthplace: Sapphire Meadows Hold
Rank: Wingrider, Ridge Wing
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Craft: Harper
Craft Rank: Senior Apprentice

Physical Description of Persona:
He’s wiry rather than stocky, though with the muscle befitting a dragonrider. H’kami is a little on the shorter side at 5’6”, and the way he tends to slouch against the nearest wall doesn't help. He has shock of sandy-brown hair that almost always appears a little bit windblown. His skin is fair, though it's more likely to tan than sunburn, and he has light brown eyes.

Emotional Description of Persona:
H’kami tends to give a first impression of someone a little too relaxed for the rank afforded him. He's casual, unhurried, and a little irreverent-- more inclined toward enjoyment of something than relentless effort. He comes across as approachable and easy to talk to, the sort of person people might naturally drift toward without quite realizing why.

That surface, however, hides a sharp and attentive mind. H'kami is an exceptional listener, quietly gathering fragments of gossip, rumor, and something overheard at the right time, then weaving them into a clear and often surprisingly accurate understanding of what’s really going on.

He takes pride in doing his job well, even if he doesn’t appear outwardly driven to those who don't know him well. He’s just pragmatic about his limits; when faced with problems beyond his depth, or something he _really_ doesn't want to do, he has no hesitation in passing it on to someone more experienced.

Socially, H'kami is an incurable flirt. He's playful, charming, and rarely serious. He enjoys the fun of it, the connection and the moments, but has little interest in commitment. For now, at least, he prefers freedom over attachment, keeping relationships light rather than letting any one person anchor him down. His dragon is the only one he's _really_ attached to.

History of Persona:
H'kami's mother was a crafter, Kamisa, and his father was H'tain-- a DFW rider who transferred to DEW when the Weyrs were overcrowded.

H'tain decided young Haulkami belonged at the Weyr when he was 6 years old, when on a visit he showed no fear at all of father's dragon-- and promptly brought him to DEW Weyr. Haulkami was raised in the Weyr creche, alongside most of the other children, though H'tain showed up semi often.

At first, Haulkami wanted to be a Harper, despite his father H'tain's insistence that he try for a dragon.

He agreed to Stand once, and only once-- and Impressed at 17 to brown Teyrabth, becoming H'kami.

Most recently, he agreed to follow his father to DFW.

Family and Friends
H'tain, 44, Dragonrider (Father)

Dragon's Name: Teyrabth
Dragon's Age: 3
Dragon's Hatching Date: m6 d20
Dragon's Hatching Place: Dream's End Weyr
Dragon's Colour: Brown
Description of Dragon:
Teyrabth is a big, solidly built brown, rivaling smaller bronzes. His hide is a deep chestnut brown all over, lighter striations on his wings, and even darker brown on his hind feet.

Teyrabth is calm and patient, just as happy to curl up with a pretty green as he is to run drills. All things in their own time. He's observant as well, with a good memory (for a dragon) and doesn't mind getting attention from others than his rider.

However, if he feels his rider has been slighted or ignored, he just as calmly utterly ignores the offender-- at least, until he forgets the offense.
