Physical Description of Persona:
Galdoral is easily recognizable as someone not from the Weyr. It’s not just in the nervous way he tends to watch everyone with his piercing blue eyes, as though he’s expecting something bad to happen. It shows in the heavy set of his frame, the baby fat in his face, and the unruly, curly, frizzy light brown hair that no hardworking Weyrfolk would keep. It shows in the soft-spoken baritone voice, as though he knows he’s taking up space and hasn’t figured out how to convey gentleness at the same time. While his clothes may be ill-fitting because of his size, he likes to wear leather bracelets and necklaces as accents.

Emotional Description of Persona:
Galdoral feels like he is imposter syndrome incarnate. He doesn’t think he’s cut out for anything, except that he knows what he knows and just needs to internalize it. He comes from a family that knows things, and not just about wine. But since none of these things _seem_ important in the larger world, he mistakenly believes that he isn’t bringing much to the conversation. Still, Galdoral is eager to please, happy to be around friends, and willing to succumb (usually) to peer pressure. He loves tackling problems that let him get creative with solutions.

He is hindered by also trying to break out of a mother that meddles constantly so that he can establish his own path. As an only child, he feels stifled by his parents yet unable to figure out _what_ he wants to do with himself. He can easily get flustered and will yell, which he then regrets. He doesn’t have a whole lot of experience with romance and will bumble a lot if he ever gets into a relationship.

History of Persona:
Galdoral is an only child. His mother had many miscarriages, to the point of the healers begging her to stop trying. So, he grew up babied out of fear of loss. As a child, he loved this. He got everything he wanted. If his mother spoiled him, his father tried to temper him, taking him into the vats and teaching him how to work. This wasn’t always successful. Galdoral could have easily grown into a spoiled, ungrateful brat, were it not for a few other adults in his life that gave him critical perspective on matters.

When his mother would fall into a depression over her most recent miscarriage, Galdoral became her caretaker in many ways. He began to understand why she was so controlling -- because she was so scared of losing him -- but it also began to bother him. He felt like he was living in the shadow of someones he could never compete with. His teenage Turns were filled with him lashing out in an effort to break from that. When his father grew tired of dealing with his outbursts, he foisted Galdoral on his uncles, who gave the boy a place to vent and grow.

Galdoral didn’t mind learning vintnercraft. He loved the experimentation of it all. Even though it was his family’s craft, he still felt like it was a place of self-expression for him. He approached his journeyman knots with the hope of being sent somewhere else, just to get a fresh start. But his father, following his mother’s wishes, requested that he stay. Furious, Galdoral produced his ace in the hole: a Search token from one of his dragonrider friends. He left the Hall for Dragonsfall Weyr the next day.
