Physical Description of Persona:
Nikanna is an almost eerie reflection of her mother. Long black hair is often kept back in a bun or braided, though tendrils have a tendency work their way out. Large brown eyes domanate a youthful, gently oval face. Her skin is naturally bronzed and she is of medium height for a woman. She has a knack for making herself look younger than she really is, or older depending on how she wants others to perceive her or respond to her.

Emotional Description of Persona:
Nikanna is a proper southern bred girl. While she does have her moments where she will act younger than her age, most of the time (particularly around her father) she does what is proper for a woman. As a Holder's daughter, she's got a bit of an ego and can at times grate on other people's nerves and can be quite greedy. She isn't necessarily bad, just spoiled. Before her mother's death, she had actually been a sweeter, more caring child, but she has actually changed since then. She does, however, know her place in society and is not above looking for a proper husband, though hopefully one with good prospects, such as a Lord Holder's heir or some such.

Despite her faults, Nikanna is very smart and has a good head for the hold. She has worked with the headwoman though they haven't always gotten along, and when she is given a task, she follows through. She loves her family and she loves the hold and would rather die than to let anything happen to them, even if she doesn't always express that love very clearly.

History of Persona:
Born the daughter of Lord Nikeves, the only sorrow that Nikanna has ever truly known has been the loss of her mother when she was eight turns old. She remembers her mother quite well, her brother just below her remembering some but not much and her youngest was far too young to remember anything. She remembers the love that her mother gave and how she never did anything half way. Her mother was a good Lady Holder, dedicated to her husband and the hold as well as her children.

Before her mother's death, Nikanna was a rather sweet child and very easy to get along with. When her mother died, however, she was particularly pained and since then she has become harder to handle. Her father's grief left room only for her to be catered, coddled and spoiled. Perhaps it was an attempt on her father's part to make up for her mother's absence in her life. Whatever it was, Nikanna changed and not for the better in most people's opinions.

When she was old enough, Nikanna started helping out with various aspects of the hold and became an assistant to the headwoman. Despite their personality clashes, the headwoman could never find fault with the work that Nikanna did. When the recent headwoman was appointed, Nikanna seemed rather upset and exhibited more crankiness than usual, which led some to believe that she had a strange love-hate relationship with the former headwoman and actually cared more about her than she ever let on.

Recently, Nikanna has been thinking about things other than her duty to the hold. She is growing up, becoming more of a lady and as such, needs a proper husband. To her despair, all of the other Lord Holders are either married or too old for her. She hopes to perhaps find a suitable husband among their heirs, or at the very least among the sons of one of the Lord Holders, or even of a prominent Minor Holder.

Nikanna fell for Carlan when he was assigned to her Father's hold as a Senior Journeyman Harper. Lord Nikeves disapproved of the match, and as she was determined to be with Carlan, she allowed him to arrange for her to go with him on his next posting to Garnet Valley Hold. There, they were married and their daughter was born.
