Physical Description of Persona:
Slightly shorter than average with tan skin, dark brown eyes, and black hair, Gappei has a bit of an exotic look about him. He is starting to realize that this is something he can take advantage of with the ladies. His deep, reverbarating voice only adds to his allure.

Emotional Description of Persona:
Gappei was raised in a very traditional home, and his attitudes reflect his upbringing. He is ambitious and determined to marry well. Through connections and his natural singing tallent, he is determined to become a big man in the Harper craft.

When the Harper Hall burned he was horrified to learn that they would be moving to the Weyr. From everything he has heard, the Weyr is full of behaviors not fit for polite society. He is most disturbed by the fact that men are openly involved with other men.

Not only does this go against his upbringing, the thought touches a much deeper chord, for no matter how much he flirts and persues the ladies, it troubles him that he cannot seem to form quite the attraction he thinks he should have. These are fears that he hides deep down behind sly smiles and long glances, and a fierce competitive streak in all physical activities.

History of Persona:
Gappei was born the fifth son of a Minor Holder bound to Emerald Falls Weyr. Growing up with four older brothers, Gappei developed a love for sport with a strong competetive streak and desire to win against his older and stronger brothers. He spent a happy childhood at the hold, learning his lessons in harper classes and from his father of tradition and everyone's role in society, as well as a dedication to family.

His father already had more sons than he had lands to offer, and could make only so many strategic alliances based on his holdings. Instead he encouraged his fifth son to take up a craft, hoping that the ties would benefit his hold in the long run. Gappei was more than happy to persue harping and was excited to be apprenticed to the Harper Hall.

As his voice settled his teachers were pleased to hear that it had grown into a clear, deep bass. His desire to be the best has helped motivate him to develope his voice and when he becomes a journeyman he is determined to be a vocal musician. By distinguishing himself in the Hall he hopes that he will attract a good marriage, helping his family and his future.
