Physical Description of Persona:
In a word, Alais is striking. She is small and slender, almost delicate- seemingly fragile. Her is long and black and very straight, and her eyes are the lightest shade of blue. Her skin, in contrast, is very fair. But it is her voice that truly holds whatever beauty she posesses- there is a musical lilt to her speech that hints of a lovely singing voice, dark and rich and soft.

Emotional Description of Persona:
Alais has always been a solemn girl, quiet and studious. She is of a very mild temperment, and as slow as she is to anger, her temper fades very quickly if it is roused.

History of Persona:
Alais's family is well off, making their home at Emerald Falls Hold. Her father was a Healer, and her brothers followed in his footsteps.

As for Alais, the only daughter amid three boys- and the youngest child as well, she was indulged, and allowed to learn with her brothers as long as she could before they were sent off to Healer Hall to apprentice.

By the time she turned thirteen, her parents sent her to Harper Hall as a Student, to at least continue learning- the second joy of her life.

The first, improbably, was music. Not a one of te rest of their family had emerged with any sort of musical talent. But Alais was different.

She could sing. She could memorize melodies with ease, and harmonies with a little difficulty, but that only made her work harder at it. Her father bought her a gitar which she worked very hard at teaching herself to play. She tried to make flutes out of reeds found by the river. Often, she was heard drumming on any flat surface she was near.

It semed only natural to send her to Harper Hall to learn what she was allowed.

Then, the Hallmaster announced that women were allowed to train as Crafters.

It was a day that changed her life. She knew what directions she wanted to move in. Her life changed again, when, impossibly, her parents approved her application to the Hall- they had even encouraged it, knowing that her talent would be wasted otherwise. She was accepted, and began her training, under much pressure and some protest, as an apprentice harper.
