Physical Description of Persona:
Hartam stands about 6' tall and has a lanky build. His hair is dark brown, but tending to gray at his temples and worn combed back and sheared off even with his collar. His eyes are green, set in a thin face with high cheekbones and medium brown skin, wrinkled from laughter and exposure to the sun. He walks with a slight limp during damp or cold weather.

Emotional Description of Persona:
Hartam spends his life observing. He has mastered harper word skills and can sound courteous while being sarcastic. He observes the world around him and sets down the words, finding that he can't resist doing so. Although he is friendly, he has spent his life alone, his emotions expressed in his lyrics rather than in his relationships with other people. He prefers to keep that separation between himself and others.

History of Persona:
Hartam was trained in the North & journeyed that area from the time he earned his journeyman knots. In his early forties, he started to suffer from a premature case of joint-ail. He stayed on the road for as long as he could, but the pain in his right hip soon caused too much difficulty. He relocated to the southern continent's Harper Hall, hoping that a warmer location would ease the aches that slowed him. However, after ten turns of warm comfort and the relocation of the Harper Hall, he decided that he was ready to risk the possibility of colder weather and aches for a new assignment. His request resulted in assignment to the Vintner Hall, where one of his main tasks is to entertain at The Tavern.

Though he feels himself to be adequate at singing, crafting instruments, and composing, Hartam knows that his true talents lie in teaching and in writing lyrics. He also prides himself on being able to read people and situations, though he enjoys poking fun at their attitudes. He looks forward to the challenges of this new assignment -- and hopes that he can keep himself out of trouble.
