Birthday: m9 d12
Rank: Master Crafter
Location: Dolphin Hall, Dolphin Cove Weyr
Craft: Dolphineer
Craft Rank: Master
Speciality: Cartography and Meteorology

Physical Description of Persona:
Of medium height and slim build, Tarehg is not physically impressive, nor is his mid-brown colouring (hair, eyes, skin) notable. The pronounced limp and the need for a walking stick to help him get around is the physical attribute that most people remember about him.

Emotional Description of Persona:
Tarehg is extremely clever and tends to intolerance of those who can't keep up with his quick thinking or his teaching. Failing having a quick brain, the best way of dealing with Tarehg's demanding personality is to have a quick mouth. He respects smart replies nearly as much as he respects smart minds.

History of Persona:
Tarehg was destined for some craft or other; his parents knew early on that their son was very different from them and with the local harper they arranged for his apprenticeship with the local dolphineer. From the small Northern Continent SeaHold where he was born he was quickly moved to the main Dolphin Hall and marked as a special talent to develop.

While interested in dolphins and enjoying the active life of an apprentice dolphineer, Tarehg's main motivation in the craft was learning. He seemed to inhale information and his path to journeyman status was quick. Seeming set for a just-as-early rise to master rank he was involved in an incident on land in his late twenties that broke his hip and has left him with a permanent limp and pain. It was the end of his life as an active dolphineer and he instead focused his attentions on gaining his mastery in his craft and teaching.

His marriage of thirty Turns was ended by mutual agreement just as Thread returned to Pern, a coincidence about which he comments that as soon as he eliminated one menace from his life another appeared.

At the beginning of Turn 3 of the Pass he had the opportunity to move to the new Dolphin Hall near Dolphin Cove Weyr, accepting the position on the teaching staff without realising that his former wife had also asked to move south. With both parents relocating, Tarehg's adult son and daughter applied for and received transfers to their parents' new Hall.
