Physical Description of Persona:
Though tall and broad shouldered like his father before him, D'ryne is lean rather than stout. Like most dragon riders he is well muscled and fit. His skin is tanned and weathered, as he enjoys his time outside when thread is not falling. He has high cheek bones and a square jaw, softened somewhat by a dimple. His dark blond hair grows fast and has a tendency to curl when it is not clipped short. Serious gray eyes sometimes show shades of blue.

Emotional Description of Persona:
D'ryne has a somewhat serious and thoughtful demeanor, and values his time alone or with no other company than his dragon. However, he is not unfriendly or overly withdrawn. Even tempered and accepting, D'ryne gets along well with most.

One of his favorite ways to pass time is to relax in a corner with a nice glass of wine, while the harpers are playing so that he can watch people. Another is reading obscure old texts that interest few but the archivists. The brownrider also dabbles at sketching, though he does not do this openly. D'ryne's favorite time of day is dawn and he loves to watch the sun rise over the ocean or the Weyr.

History of Persona:
Dileryne was born the son of a brownrider, G'oryne, and his weyrmate, Dilvara. He had a happy childhood and was very close to his brother Varyne who was only one turn his junior. Dileryne had thought to apprentice to the Harper Hall as he had some talent as an artist and loved to read, particularly historical documents. However, he impressed brown Quirinynth the first time he stood on the sands at twelve turns old. Though he could have pursued his apprenticeship, D'ryne decided against it.

His brother did apprentice and become a Harper, but was on the sands for every hatching and finally impressed a blue dragon when he was twenty-turns old. D'ryne and V'ryne continued to be best friends throughout the turns. They shared a love of music and wine and enjoyed weyrlife to its fullest. Their younger sister, Govara, impressed when she was sixteen.

Life was good. Then thread returned, and one by one D'ryne lost his family. His sister died the first threadfall that she flew. His father died within a few sevendays and his mother, unstable after the death of her loved ones, had left the safety of the Weyr during another Fall and was never seen again. Two turns D'ryne and V'ryne fought thread together in the same wing. It was a heartrending day when D'ryne lost his beloved brother to the insidious parasite as well. Like so many in the Weyr, D'ryne's fight against thread is very personal.

Quirinyth is a very large brown the color of freshly turned soil just after a rain. He can be a bit of a show off and enjoys pushing to see what he is capable of. Like his rider he enjoys music.
