Physical Description of Persona:
Sandy-blonde hair matched with light brown skin, broad, prominent cheekbones accompanied by exceptionally dark, slanted eyes, and a tall, rangy body; these make Zharesti a memorable, attractive woman even as she approaches fifty.

Emotional Description of Persona:
In her younger days Zharesti railed against life when she thought it treated her less-than-kindly but this complaining attitude has changed, as she has matured, into an acceptance of everything that life throws her way. With this practical, almost fatalistic attitude she is seldom moved from a calm, wry response to any situation.

History of Persona:
The unexpected daughter of two lower caverns workers Zharesti was raised first by her own mother, and then a foster mother as she got older. Her father seemed to regard her with some suspicion since he would have Impressed green, had he Impressed, and could barely remember the night she was conceived. With her obvious likeness to him in her face and colouring (and the blunt statement of her mother) he could hardly deny her, but she was always an embarrassing reminder of something he'd rather not admit to. He had as little to do with her as was possible in the small population of the Weyr at the time.

For most of her adult life Zharesti was in a relationship with bronzerider J'detten. The relationship ended when J'detten's bronze flew a young gold at another Weyr and he decided to pursue a relationship with the much younger goldrider, leaving Zharesti and their two nearly grown sons.

In the preparations for the return of Thread Zharesti was moved to a Northern Continent Weyr as the senior (and for a time, only) Weyrwoman, a position which she held right until the second Turn of the Pass when Veyeth came down with an idiopathic gastrointestinal disorder. Nursed carefully for over a Turn, Veyeth did recover her health. During her illness, though, she did not rise to mate and the position of Senior Weyrwoman changed to another pair. Once Veyeth's care no longer took all of Zharesti's attention (and the gold's recovery had been more than proved by two Turns of productive, on-schedule mating flights) friction began to develop between the elder woman and her replacement causing Zharesti to look around for a junior weyrwoman position somewhere else rather than let an open rift develop at the Weyr she had established and led for many Turns.

Description of Dragon:
Veyeth is a large gold, still very lean after her illness. Her hide is a rich dark gold, similar in colour to the brightest of bronzes.

Although Veyeth can be territorial and possessive about her mate and her personal space, she has always been tolerant of other golds which was something of a blessing with the change in leadership during her illness.
