Persona Profile: Parme (Inactive)

Writer: Jelena

Name: Parme
Age: 58
Birthday: m6 d4
Rank: Hold Resident
Location: Sunstone Seahold
Job: Herbalist and Midwife

Physical Description of Persona:
Parme has large, almost shaped deep brown eyes, dark brown hair peppered with grey and usually pinned back away from her face. She has round features, including round high cheek bones, a round chin and a round, though prominent nose. Her smile is infectious, as is her laugh. She can often be found with a pair of reading spectacles danging from a chain around on her neck or perched on the high bride of her nose.

Emotional Description of Persona:
Though usually steady and always calm under pressure, Parme can be a bit pushy when the occasion calls for it, or if you are one of her immediate family.

However, she is loyal to the last, and always has the interests of others in mind. She has an overwhelming desire to help people, which comes through not only in her medical training, but when she happily offers advice and meddles in others affairs. Though she usually backs off if she gets the impression her help is unwanted, unless you are one of her children.

She loves a good tale, and will quite willingly listen to any gossip one might want to pass her way. Though a good shoulder to lean on and a wealth of knowledge and experience, one must always keep in mind that the information passed to her might quietly be passed on to others who might be interested in a good story. Even so, Parme knows when to keep her mouth shut when it involves secrets that could be harmful or embarrassing to someone she loves.

History of Persona:
Parme was born to two healers, Parison and Talme. Talme, like most women crafters of her generation, gave up her journeymen knots after the Plague and settled into a life baring children. Even so, she did not give up her love of healing completely and settled into the more acceptable role of herbalist and midwife, skills that she began passing on to her daughters from a young age. As such, Parme grew up around first herbs and then babies. Of all their children, she seemed to have the most natural talent and she reveled in the attention it brought her.

When she was in her late teens, she began to get regular visits from Journeyman Elmash, a mason who seemed to be suffering from nearly constant headaches. He would come requesting her "wonderful tea" and would end up sitting and watching her work, chatting and charming the young herbalist with his funny stories and boisterous laugh. It wasn't until their friendship had bloomed into a sweet romance that he confessed that he rarely had a headache, and instead had just wanted an excuse to be near her.

They lived quite happily together in their Hold until about five turns before the present Pass, when Elmash was sent to Sun Stone Seahold to work on a new Hold building with the understanding that he would be working towards his Master knots. Unfortunately, after two turns of living there, Elmash took a nasty fall off a ladder and two days later died of his head injuries.

Parme could not bare to leave the place where she shared her final days with her beloved husband. Besides, she had found herself to be of use to people there, and the last thing she wanted in her time of sorrow was to try to make a new life. She has supported her children quite well using her skills and, despite her hardships, has become a warm and loving part of Sun Stone Seahold.

Pets

Barley, Feline: aged 12, born m2 d5
Barley is so named for his golden brown color. He and his sister Willow were brought into Parme's workshop while still kittens and there they reside, watching over patrons and their mistresses and lounging in a good sunspot. Barley is very good at his intended purpose - keeping the tunnelsnakes and other pests that might be attracted by the smells of the cot away. He is the more active and affectionate of the pair.

Willow, Feline: aged 12, born m2 d5
Willow is a much creamier color than her brother and is only affectionate when the whim takes her. Probably because she spends most of her time raising a litter of kittens and doesn't have time for much else! When she's not roaming around the cots looking for fathers for her many offspring, or rearing said young, she can often be found in a basket close to the fire.
