"Now, now, Shaleen, don't fret." G'len said soothingly as he escorted the crying girl into the infirmary. "You just grabbed that sack wrong, I'm sure your wrist will be fine. Ah now look, here is a healer who can look at it for you." He gave a nod to the woman who approached them and continued in the soothing voice. "She caught a firestone sack wrong and hurt her wrist."

The healer gave it a quick once over and then gave the girl a smile.
"There there, it's not broken, just probably sprained. Let's go get it wrapped." she looked up at G'len and added, "If you'll just wait here, we won't be but a few minutes."

G'len ruffled the girls hair in farewell and watched then go through the door. As he did so, she saw a familiar face walk past in the other direction. He poked his head through the door and followed him around the corner. He couldn't help but grin with he saw Dantial hunched over a desk writing on some notes. "Have a few minutes to treat another burn?"

Dantial looked up and smiled. "G'len! I thought I told you to keep your hands out of your sister's baking." He waved the dragonrider inside and pointed out a small, rickety chair. "Have a seat."

"Aye, I've learned my lesson, Nandia threatened to ban me from the kitchen otherwise." the greenrider said as he took the offered seat.

"Did it heal up satisfactorily?" Dantial asked, pushing aside his work.

He didn't particularly feel like working on patient charts at the moment, and G'len's presence made a good excuse.

G'len rolled up his sleeve to show off his arm. "Perfectly, not a scar. Your gentle hands worked wonders."

Dantial reached out to hold G'len's arm briefly while he examined the place the burn had been. "Good. Though I would have been a fairly sorry excuse for a healer if I couldn't take care of a burn."

The greenrider patted the healer's hand and grinned, "Your reputation has nothing to fear, my sister even approves of your skills."

"I'm glad." Releasing his arm, Dantial sat back in his chair. "Are you sure that's not because I told you to keep your hands out of her baking, though?"

G'len couldn't help but chuckle. "That might have helped warm her up to you at that. Hey now," He said sitting up in the chair, "What are you doing after your shift? I was going to head over to the Vintner Hall Tavern opening, and Tobereth is plenty big for two!"

"The Vintner Hall is opening a Tavern?" Dantial blinked. "I really do need to listen to gossip more. But I'd always gotten the impression the Vintner Hallmaster wasn't very fond of dragonriders..."

"Maybe not," the greenrider said with a grin, "But the Tavern Master is certainly looking forward to our marks!"

It had been a long time since Dantial had done anything except for take care of O'dan or work in the infirmary. Perhaps it would be good for him to get out and do something fun. "I'm done in a candlemark or so.
When were you planning to leave?"

"Sometime after dinner," G'len said, "their day starts a good deal after ours and I don't want to get there too early!" he added with a wink.

"Sounds perfect." And it would give him time to take a bath and change into something a little more presentable for being out of the infirmary. "Where should I meet you?"

"How about I just come by your quarters?" G'len suggested, "There aren't _that_ many journeyman healer's rooms. I'll just knock on every door until you answer!"

"You could try, but you wouldn't find me." Dantial shook his head.
"I've been keeping an eye on my brother for the past few months. He needed a lot of help getting around in the beginning, so I moved in with him."

Ahh... well that made sense, O'dan had been scored severely, and it was a testament to his brother's devotion for sure. "Well then, how about I meet you at _his_ weyr? We could even bring him back a bottle or two if he'd be interested?"

Dantial imagined what O'dan would have to say if a greenrider showed up at his weyr to collect his brother. He'd already taken enough teasing for not bringing any women back. Best not to give O'dan any ideas that he might be considering men. "How about I just meet you in the weyrbowl?"

"Okay then," G'len said with a shrug unfazed, "How about an hour after dinner?" "It sounds perfect." Now he'd just have to think up an excuse to not invite O'dan along. Tonight, for once, Dantial wanted to be someone other than O'dan's younger brother.
