Description: Dirwol contemplates standing again and his love
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 8, day 14 of Turn 4
Dirwol sat in his favorite place on the beach. His heart was heavy. He loved his goldrider with all his heart but something was bothering him. He didn't mind having to share her. He understood what being a rider meant. But it hurt non-the less.
He hadn't been able to talk to her since the hurricane. Treasure could feel his sadness and she curled in his lap. He wasn't sure what he expected of the woman he loved but he wanted to be with her always. He wanted her to know he loved her more than ever. He then thought of the hatching that was coming up. He was supposed to stand again. It would most likely be the last time he did. It didn't bother him. But, if he impressed perhaps he could be that much closer to his goldrider. Then again would she wait for him? Would she want him then? What if he impressed blue? His dragon wouldn't be able to chase her beautiful gold.
If he impressed brown or bronze, he could. Then again what if the right bronze or brown came along and swept her off her feet.
Would he be forgotten? Dirwol couldn't stand it. His heart was so confused. His life as a harper had been so much easier. Now he knew he could never go back to being a plan old harper. He had loved. He had loved someone who should have been unattainable. He had to know what she felt. But he was afraid. Determined he stood and headed for the Weyr. Treasure gave a chirp as she took off. Dirwol would talk to her. He had to know where they stood. He needed her to know how he felt. How he would always feel. His heart fluttered as thoughts of what could happen swam through his mind. He just hoped his heart could take whatever happened.
