A Lonely Birthingday

Date Posted: 4th January 2010

Characters: D'wol
Description: D'wol Spends his birthingday alone, with his thoughts.
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 7, day 15 of Turn 5

D'wol sat quietly on the edge of his weyr ledge. He was contemplating going to see the woman he loved but, wasn't sure. She may be spending time with her kids.

At the moment he was rather confused. he knew in his heart he loved her but had yet to get the courage to ask her to be his weyrmate. What if it wasn't what she wanted? What if he was only someone to pass the lonely moments with. He sighed. He was good at talking himself out of things. Then there was Eveia. She was a sweet greenrider that had more than once asked him to go with her to the beach. He liked talking to her. She was nice and friendly. But, she was no Jyra.

He sighed as he glanced down at the small carving in his lap. It was of a dragon in flight. A gift from Eveia. She had given it to him that morning at breakfast. He hadn't realized that his birthingday had come. She had smiled softly and kissed his cheek. What was he to do.

A small fuzzy body pressed itself against his side. he smiled as he rubbed Sandy's head. She had become such a part of his little family. He had Memreth, Treasure, Flips and now Sandy. Treasure gently landed on his shoulder. She could tell something bothered him. She rubbed her little head on his cheek and hummed at him.

Even if he did not have the warmth of a lady for his birthday, he had his little family. He stood and walked into his weyr. He sat beside Memreth and curled up. At least he had them.
