Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 9, day 3 of Turn 3
B'ram lounged against the feeding grounds fence as he waited for Girifith to make his first choice. **Don't they all just look the same?** he asked as he watched his brown circle another time.
}: No. :{ his brown answered plainly.
**You can be the pickiest eater,** his rider chuckled. **Will you hurry up and chose already? _You_ were the one who was so hungry.**
}: Only the best will do. I'm willing to wait for it. :{ There was a hint of tolerant amusement in the browns tone.
B'ram sighed and shrugged to the young woman standing short ways down the fence. "Sometimes there is no winning with them, is there!"
"Not when they are bigger than you there isn't. Sometime I wish Farsith was still a hatching, she listened to me then." Aletta sighed. "Your brown I'm guessing."
"The picky one? Yes," he smiled and pointed towards the thoughtful brown flying overhead. "Is he holding up your green at all?"
"No, she likes to wait until the males are done, that way they can watch her show off." Aletta laughed. "She's shameless".
Like every other green it seemed. And brown, blue, bronze and gold he'd ever known. "You know, I'm starting to think that dragons flirt even more than their riders do!"
"I've seen the reverse but not often. He as bad?" she gestured to the brown who still hadn't chosen his meal.
"Oh yes," B'ram nodded. "He will flirt with any green or gold within sight.
I at least have _some_ limitations."
Aletta raised an eyebrow, "And those are?"
"Well, male riders, for one," B'ram said with a grin. "Gold riders for another."
"Goldriders? I never thought I'd hear a man say that." Aletta said. "Of course with my wingleader I can see why."
"Traelyn is your wingleader?" B'ram snorted. "Yeah, she was the one who turned me off of golds in the first place."
"Yes, she is, it seems she's trying to make up for her mistake by drilling us all the time." Aletta smiled at the brownrider. "What dose you brown think about your dislike of golds?"
"I don't know," B'ram said honestly. "I guess I never asked. I wouldn't stop him from chasing a gold of course, and I would be proud if he ever caught one, but it doesn't mean I have to have anything to do with their rider. Then again," he shrugged, "Traelyn is really the only goldrider I have... known well. Maybe they're not all like her."
"Kalina was a good wingleader." Aletta grinned, "Even if she did drive T'moran crazy It was a real lost to the Weyr when Moraith was scored so badly."
"It's a loss anytime a queen can no longer rise to mate. Especially after all the other losses you suffered."
"We've found a way to cope. The new riders are a big help, however."
Aletta nodded to the brown. "Looks like he finally picked one."
B'ram smiled at the brown as he hungrily devoured the herdbeast. "Looks that way. He must have thought your green had all she could handle of his beauty for one day."
"She never gets enough of handsome males. Watch her now." The greenrider pointed to her green, Farsith had began scanning her choices of meals from the air, while engaging in acrobatics that made her rider slightly dizzy.
**Are you watching that green there boy?** B'ram asked, amused at the dragon's antics.
}:I'm eating now, :{ his brown replied as he ripped out the belly of the herdbeast.
**I think she's trying to get your attention. Look up.**
The brown lifted his head and watched the lovely female in flight. He bulged his encouragement, his meal momentarily forgotten.
"I think he likes what he sees," B'ram laughed as he turned back to the greens rider.
Farsith dropped like a stone neatly snapping her prey's neck, she landed with her meal near the brown and began to eat.
"All she needs another male, she'll be pleased." Her rider replied. "I'm glad she didn't keep going, she makes me dizzy when she does that."
"She'd be a handful in a flight, I'd wager." Girifith could catch her, though, of course.
"I've been told she is, mostly the next morning." She laughed.
"Yes, well, I'm sure the winner doesn't complain _too_ loudly."
"I've never heard any complaints from any of the winners. Thier dragons certainly hang around for a while. Farsith adores the attention from _any_
male."
"What a coincidence. Girifith loves to give attention to just about any female. They should get along very well. And I never complain either."
The brownrider gave her a little wink.
Aletta smiled in return, she still wasn't used to flirting but didn't mind the practice. "I certainly hope they do."
}: I'm finished eating now, :{ Girifith finally announced. }:Can you walk back to the weyr? I want to invite Farsith to sunbathe with me. :{ B'ram rolled his eyes, but chuckled. "Well, it seems your green has robbed me of my ride back. Girifith wants to flirt a bit more."
"Which mean's I'm stranded as well. How about we find something to eat as well?"
"That sounds like a wonderful idea," the brownrider nodded. Sometimes B'ram found being stranded to be quite appealing.
"Race you? Loser carries the tray?" She grinned in challenge.
