Glinting Treasure In the Sky

Writers: April
Date Posted: 25th April 2010

Characters: D'wol
Description: D'wol's Treasure Rises and is Caught by a Wild Bronze.
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 8, day 14 of Turn 5

D'wol was slightly annoyed. Nothing seemed to be going his way that morning. With a sigh he climbed up on Memreth and had his dragon take off. Within moments they were in the air and circling the Weyr. He needed to get away for a bit. Cool his head. It wasn't like him to be irritated at small things.

Soon they were /between/ and hovering over a small cove. It was the cove he had found his flits in. He smiled. His time stuck there was a good memory. He landed and striped Memreth. He watched as the brown moved over to stretch in the sun. He started collecting a few lovely shells. He would take them back to Jyra's kids. He smiled when he thought of the Queenrider.

A sudden commotion caught his attention. Out just over the water he could see a golden glint being chased by several bronze and brown glints. The shimmering gold glowed in the fading light. He watched mesmerized. She took turns that seemed imposable. She flipped and spun, all the while shimmering. Light dances of her scales as she sped inland and then took sharp turn and slew around her person. D'wol turned following her with his eyes. He soon found himself surrounded by glittering bodies circling him all flying after the one shinning golden prize. Their voices were like music all weaving together as they danced about the sky. His eyes followed her as she fled from her suitors up into the sky. Higher and higher she beat her wings. His heart stopped as she suddenly plummeted toward the sand. Then with an effortless turn she pulled out of her dive and flung her small body out to sea again. She flew straight for the sun. Farther and higher she went. Then
suddenly a bronze body wrapped itself around the gold as she got just at the end of his sight. His legs went weak and he sank to the sand as the entwined bodies slowly dropped to the sea.

D'wol shook a bit. No wonder he had been so irritable. Treasure had been ready to rise. He knew it was nothing like what Jyra went through each time her Gold rose. Most the time he didn't notice it as much when treasure rose but out here, where he had found her and first come to know her, he felt more connected to her. He sat there a long time. Just watching the sun as it slipped beneath the sea and wondered what tomorrow would bring.
