D'cal felt a body shift closer to him. His eyes opened slightly. It was an unfamiliar feeling, waking up with someone snuggled against him. He turned his head to look down at her and found Zanie's two brown eyes looking back. "Good morning," he smiled and leaned down to kiss her.
She melted into his kiss, returning it with sleepy satisfaction as she wrapped her arms around his back. "Did you sleep all right?" he asked lazily as he stretched an arm out beneath her head. That felt much better than having it scrunched up next to his body.
"I slept wonderfully," she replied with a soft smile, letting her eyes drift shut again. She'd worried that it would be hard to fall asleep with D'cal in the bed, but having him curled around her had been amazingly comforting. "Good, so did I," he grinned as stretched his other arm back. D'cal, for the first time in a while, felt great. He felt no pain or confusion about what he and Zanie had done. For once, he just felt... good! "I'm not ready to get up yet. Are you?"
"I think I'd like to avoid that for as long as possible." The nerves and tension she'd felt the night before had faded, and Zanie was more than willing to spend a little more time finding out exactly what she'd been missing. "You won't be missed?" he asked as he drew small circles on her shoulder with his fingers.
"I'm always up and about my duties early," Zanie replied faintly, most of her concentration taken up by the feeling of his fingers on her skin.
After the previous night, such an innocent seeming gesture shouldn't have felt so amazingly good... but maybe it was just the fact that she knew what sorts of things his hands could make her feel now. "Everyone will assume I'm out for my morning swim..." Everyone but Renner, of course, who would know that she was gone and would probably know where. "Good," he whispered as his lips grazed her forehead. "Maybe they will think it's a very long swim." Shards but she smelled wonderful. He could get used to this...
"Oh, it's always a long swim." Zanie's voice was teasing as she let her fingers slide up his chest. "But this morning it might have to be even longer than usual..."
Her fingers sent a slight shiver through him. "That means I get to keep you for a while?" D'cal smiled as his fingers wondered down her spine.
"Yes..." It was her turn to shiver, but as impatient as she was feeling, she wouldn't stop the slow teasing touches for anything. "So since you get to keep me, what are you going to do with me?" "Can't you guess what I want to do with you?" he aked with a smile as his fingers trailed up her side. There were so many things he wanted to do with her. With _only_ her, he reminded himself. Dyaera wouldn't understand that. She wouldn't understand how good it felt to have only one other to share moments like this with... Shards, he had to stop thinking of Dyaera while Zanie was so beautiful and willing and _naked_
in his bed...
Zanie tangled her fingers in his hair, pulling his face down close to hers. "Of course I can," she whispered into his ear. "But it's so much more fun to have you show me..." Shards, she was starting to realize why people thought the Weyr could be so dangerous! A few months there and Zanie had gone from innocent to positivly _brazen_. But with D'cal's body pressed close against hers and reminding her of how wonderful he could make her feel... well, it was hard to remember what was so wrong about being a little forward. D'cal suddenly was convinced that he was the luckiest man in the weyr -
the perfect dragon, and now a fantastic girl in his bed encouraging him to do deliciously wonderful things! Everyone should have it like this! He grinned as he rolled over on top of her and looked down into her beautiful, smiling and impatient eyes. "Are you sure? This could take a while."
She might be lacking practical knowledge, but there was one thing Zanie knew how to do, and that was learn. "The longer the better. After all, I need _lots_ of practice." "Oh, I don't know. I thought you were rather good," he smiled as he shifted himself lower down her body and began tracing her ribcage with his lips. Part of him still wondered what it was that had driven her to his weyr the night before, but in the end it didn't matter. All that mattered to him was that she was there.
Her eyes fluttered shut as she arched into his touch. "And you've come along way from your fumbling in the closet..." "Shards I hope so," he laughed, pushing himself up to look at her face. She had grown up since then too, and matured in such wonderful ways. "Who would have thought we would end up here together one day?"
"I never would have imagined it." But she wasn't going to argue with the unlikely twist in fate, either. D'cal leaned himself forward and kissed her softly as he remembered those early adolescent fumblings. "Why did you go with me? In that closet?"
"Your eyes," she responded without hesitation. "You had friendly eyes." Shells. That was a better answer than he would be able to come up with, which was 'because I really wanted to go to the closet and you actually said yes'. "And was it my eyes that brought you back to me?"
"Mmmmm..." She lifted a finger a traced his lips with it. "And your smile. I love to see you smile." He rewarded her with a grin and kissed at her finger tips. This was what he had wanted, what he had been searching for. It felt... normal. _This_ he could understand. On some deep level, D'cal had needed this. "Thank you for coming back to me, Zanie."
"Thank you for being here to come back to," she replied softly, leaning up to kiss him again.
