Name: P'xan
Pronunciation: Pah-shen
Age: 14
Birthday: m8 d13
Rank: Senior Weyrling
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Craft: Harper
Craft Rank: Junior Apprentice

Physical Description of Persona:
Palixan is on the smaller side, and wiry. His mother was darker skinned, a trait that he and several of his siblings inherited. His hair is a sleek raven-black. His eyes are dark brown, so dark they can be mistaken for black in the right light. From his early days, he’s filled out somewhat, though his build remains spare. His build and features will always seem angled, and just a shade over scrawny, though he’ll be able to develop the muscle mass of most fit riders.

Emotional Description of Persona:
Palixan’s first impression is dedicated rule follower. There’s a reason they’re there after all. Rules Are Important. He can tend to be on the more rigid side, try to ensure that everything is being done Properly and that no one is trying to shirk duties, or avoid them entirely. Dragonriders are the first and most important line of defense against Thread, and that means they have to maintain the highest standards when it comes to minding the rules.

Outside of rules, however, Palixan is actually a somewhat shy individual, his ‘rulekeeping’ persona mellowing to something softer, and socially awkward.

History of Persona:
Palixan was born in a medium-sized cothold beholden to Emerald Falls. His father was the Lord, well- he was the lord of the household and fields, at least. Everyone was expected to obey when the man spoke, and do so immediately, from the family to the hired hands. As the youngest sibling of many, even a ‘prosperous’ turn meant that times were lean, and the family most often ran on a very limited budget.

When Palixan was six, his second eldest brother left to Apprentice to a Craft, and was shortly followed by two other brothers, and his oldest sister left as well, married to the son of another nearby cotholder.

While the strain on the family’s budget was lessened considerably, the resulting fight between Palixan’s parents created a rift between the remaining family, a cooler atmosphere that never quite abated.

When Palixan was 10, his father went out to the fields- and never came back. His oldest remaining brother was forced to take charge of the cothold, and they continued to scrape along, all available hands remaining needed badly to keep things running.

Things would continue like this for two more turns, until, one day, wonder of wonders, what should land in his family’s cothold but a blue dragon on Search.

Thirteen Turn old Palixan was awed, and even more so when the blue's rider spoke to him, informing Palixan that their dragon thought he thought he was a ‘nice boy’, and could make it as a dragonrider.

It was as if Palixan’s world had cracked right open, suddenly imagining things that he would never have before.

At the Weyr, Palixan took to Candidacy with a little difficulty, still shellshocked by the rapid transition his life had taken, and it was there that his outer ‘shell’ of rule follower began to form. He couldn’t risk losing this. This glimpse of a life outside the dull drudgery of his family’s cothold, and he quickly agreed to apprentice as a Harper to ensure he maybe wouldn't have to go back, whatever happened.

Dragon's Name: Kovashoth
Dragon's Age: 0
Dragon's Hatching Date: m8 d22
Dragon's Colour: Brown
Description of Dragon:
Kovashoth is a rich mahogany brown, though burnt umber ripples through his hide almost like wood-grain. He's exactly the average size for his color, though the way he trots suggests he thinks he's bigger than he is.

Kovashoth harbors an eagerness that often surprises those who first meet him. From the moment he first hatched, he has met the world with open eyes and forward motion, keen to learn, to fly, to prove himself useful.

Determination defines his every movement-- whether he's playing a game with clutchmates or chasing down stray Thread, Kovashoth doesn't give up easily.

He's not loud, nor quick to anger, but has a stubborn streak beneath his overtly cheery surface. Once his mind is set, only his rider might sway him, or a senior dragon he respects.
