Physical Description of Persona:
Maurgen has never been remarkable in any way, unless one considers how amazingly unremarkable she is. Her brown hair is wavy but won't hold a real curl, much to her dismay. She keeps it long enough to be easy to pull back without being to terribly difficult to deal with.

Her eyes are brown as well, framed by thin arched eyebrows that along with her slightly larger than usual eyes leave her looking constantly surprised. A slight dusting of freckles across the bridge of her nose often creeps its way down her cheeks when she spends too much time in the sun.

She dresses as unremarkably as she looks, in clothing that fits well enough but hardly draws attention.

Emotional Description of Persona:
Maurgen's personality makes her as easy to forget as her less than remarkable appearance. Maurgen is an observer of life, and while she finds it fascinating to watch and consider the motivations and feelings of those around her, she's never felt very comfortable getting involved. She lacks the charm of many of her fellow harpers, as well as the quick wit and conversational skills.

Even after many turns at the Weyr, she still retains a certain shyness around men that makes her awkward with the opposite gender. When she can be coaxed out of her shell, her wry observations and talent for storytelling can be very entertaining, but Maurgen makes few friends, and almost none of them are male.

History of Persona:
Maurgen was born the last daughter of a cotholder deep in Emerald Falls territory. Her birth was a difficult one for her mother, who had endured a string of increasingly more strenuous pregnancies from the tender age of fifteen. Maurgen's birth was eight turns after her next oldest sister's, and resulted in her mother's death. Her father might have mourned his wife's loss more if Maurgen hadn't been the seventh useless daughter instead of the much awaited heir. Her father hard remarried before she was a turn old, and Maurgen grew up with a mother who was younger than her eldest siblings.

Her father was a harsh man who only grew less fond of his daughters as his young, new wife started having sons. After turns of virtually ignoring her, Maurgen's father all but threw her at a passing Searchrider who showed an interest in her, seeing nothing but the dowry that he wouldn't have to give someone to get rid of her.

Adjusting to Weyr life was hard, but Maurgen was thrilled to realize that she could study and learn. When her artistic talent became evident, an artist in the Weyr took her under his wing and became the first real father she'd ever had. She only stood at one Hatching before she decided that she'd much rather devote her time and energy to learning, something that thrilled her mentor.

Though she's been at Dolphin Cove for nearly ten turns now, she's made few friends, and has become so adept at fading into the background that most people seem to think that she's a new arrival.
