Physical Description of Persona:
Barli stands about 5'9" and has quite the womanly figure. Her waist is not as trim as it once was and no one would accuse her of being skinny, but her hard work aboard the Sungazer has kept her rather fit. She has thick brown hair, not as dark as it might be if living aboard the paddleboat didn't leave her spending so much time out in the sun. Her skin is a darker hue as well, and her eyes the color of strongly brewed klah. Finely chiseled facial features catch the attention of many a male passenger.

Emotional Description of Persona:
Having always known the love and security of the close knit family aboard the riverboat, Barli grew up confidant and outgoing. She is good-natured and caring as well, with no qualms in sharing how she feels about anything. Barli has a keen interest in people and loves hearing of different experiences and ideas.

History of Persona:
Born to the captain of the Sungazer, Jesten, and his wife, Barli grew up on board the riverboat which traversed the Nettleweed River. Though her mother died shortly after she was born, there was no shortage of family to offer love and support. Her childhood was happy and she grew very close to her brother Lineal, who was only one turn her senior. So much so that she was nearly heartbroken when he left to apprentice as a seacrafter.

At twenty turns, Barli fell in love with a young man from another riverboat. Cianan was handsome, strong, and skilled with the paddleboats so the family thought it was a perfect match. Arrangements were made and they planned to be married, but Cianan disappeared prior to the wedding. His family had no clue where he was and he left no word for Barli. He was just gone.

For ten turns, though always friendly, Barli kept all interactions with men casual. No one knew whether it was from a broken heart or because she still awaited her beloved Cianan's return. Over time a journeyman technician who was oftentimes a passenger aboard the riverboat was able to convince her to marry him. He joined the crew and everyone thought it for the best. Unfortunately, Wiamer had a hard time adjusting to life and culture aboard the riverboat. Jezz was born just over a turn after they were married and following the birth of his daughter, Wiamer strived to convince his wife to leave her beloved river.

Confidant that Barli would leave with him if only he had a secure position, he decided to stay in port and look for work, while the Sungazer continued on downriver. When the Sungazer returned, Barli found that Wiamer had been murdered. It was suspected that in his eagerness to find a good paying position he had fallen in with a bad group of people and thus come to such a violent end.
