Physical Description of Persona:
Tall for a woman, standing at 5' 10" with hair so dark it's almost black and dark brown eyes. Her skin is of a light brown hue, her face oval, chin tapered. Her smile is wide and her eyes sparkle, echoing that smile. She has long limbs and long fingers and every move is smooth and graceful.

Emotional Description of Persona:
Irlani loves people. In particular, she loves children. She has always loved children, even when she was but a child herself. She has a good imagination, useful for entertaining little ones. She is patient and has found herself the mother of quite a few fosterlings, particularly those considered 'difficult' or 'touched'. She is patient and normally of a slow temper. Touch a child in anger, however, and she will be quick to retaliate.

History of Persona:
Irlani was always the responsible one of all her siblings. While her brothers and sister were off playing games and pretending to be something other than themselves, Irlani would stay behind and help her mother, even before she was old enough to be assigned to a job. Her mother was a foster mother as well as a birth mother to her own four children. Irlani enjoyed being with the other children and any games she played were with them. Her siblings might have thought she had no imagination, but her imagination enchanted her mother's fosterlings and helped to keep them entertained.

Irlani was thirteen when she met her future husband, though they didn't know it at the time. Kaistlin was two turns her senior and was captivated by her from the moment he saw her. Irlani liked him well enough, but it took an entire turn before she returned the sentiment. When she was fifteen, the two married. Two turns later, Kaistlin impressed brown Serrinth, becoming K'lin, and the two remained lovers and weyrmates.

Irlani conceived twice, only to lose one child in the first trimester and the second a sevenday into her second. She was unable to conceive after that.

She continued to work with children, helping out in the creche and went on to take several fosterlings as the turns passed. Her patience became well known among the foster mothers and 'problem children' were soon put into her care. Irlani didn't mind - she loved them all. She could not conceive and bear a child, but she just loved her fosterlings all the more.

When Irlani was thirty, thread began to fall. Her husband was scored at the end of the first turn, severely so. He lost an arm and a leg and was in the infirmary for months. Irlani painfully gave up charge of her fosterlings to other mothers to stay at her husband's side. He needed her.

Three months later, K'lin was released into Irlani's care only to return a couple of sevendays later with a severe infection. The infection spread to his lungs and his heart and another sevenday later, he passed away.

For two months, Irlani barely moved from her quarters until finally, a foster mother, pained and stretched with a rather difficult fosterling asked Irlani if she could consider taking the boy. The child's need drew her out of her depressive state and Irlani made her way back into the world of the living and began to care for children once again.
